Political meme titled "The myth of 'consensual' cheap gas prices." On the left, a map of blue-shaded U.S. states and a smiling Kamala Harris in a dark blazer, with speech bubbles saying "I consent." On the right, a map of red-shaded states and Donald Trump in a red "Make America Great Again" hat saying "We don't!" The caption below asks, "Isn't there someone you forgot to ask?"

Mr. Smith, can you confirm on the record that you attended the premiere of Armageddon in 1998? I'll give you a minute to collect your thoughts because I don't think you know we have this.

Happy brunch day to all the little people in my phone
A tall flute glass filled with a frothy, bright yellow mimosa-style drink sits on a marble bar counter next to a green bottle of Pol Rémy sparkling wine (brut) with its foil wrapper partially peeled. In the background, a well-stocked home bar is visible with shelves of liquor bottles, wine bottles, a wall sconce light, and a TV mounted on the wall.

Just look at this cover! Super excited for this month's random classic video game magazine from @gamehistoryorg.bsky.social! It's the 2/93 edition of Computer Gaming World, a magazine I don't know at all. We should at least find some good ads in here. Please dive into the thread below for fun finds.
Cover of Computer Gaming World, February 1993, Number 103. A yellow diagonal banner across the upper left corner reads "100 Games Rated," with "$3.95 / $4.95 Canadian" above it and "February 1993" and "Number 103" along its edges. The masthead "COMPUTER GAMING WORLD" appears in large white and gold block letters, with the tagline "The Premier Computer Game Magazine" beneath it and a line of cover teasers above reading "Amazon - Castles 2 Strategy - Waxworks." The cover art, framed by an ornate blue and gold illuminated-manuscript border, shows a painted fantasy scene: in the upper half, an old bearded wizard-warrior in a red hood and heavy gold plate armor over chainmail draws a sword; in the lower half, a smaller vignette shows a party of armored adventurers climbing a dark rocky crag toward a glowing red castle, while one figure with a raised weapon confronts a winged demon silhouetted against a burst of blue light above the sea. Yellow text at the right reads "Dynamix and Raymond E. Feist Present Betrayal At Krondor." A gold shield-shaped badge at the left reads "Special Techno-Wizardry Section." Lower right, yellow text reads "Also in this issue:" followed by "Rex Nebular," "Sneak Preview: Caesar," "Conquered Kingdoms Strategy," and "Sneak Preview: Alone in the Dark." A UPC barcode sits in the lower left corner.

wishing everyone a happy saturday #Photography #BloomScrolling #PeachBlossom
Close-up macro photograph of pink blossoms (peach or nectarine blossom) on a branch. One fully open flower in the center foreground shows five pale pink petals with darker pink veining and a cluster of red and yellow stamens. Above and below it, several unopened buds show deep magenta-red petals still tightly furled, with fuzzy brownish-red sepals at their base. A soft, blurred olive-green and tan background creates a shallow depth of field that isolates the blossoms.

The latest games haul from a local shop. Four games I’ve never played but have heard great things about.
Four Xbox 360 game cases laid side by side on a dark gray woven fabric surface, each with a retro game store price sticker. From left: Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 ($11.99, marked down to $8.99 for members), Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II ($8.99), Crackdown ($8.99), and Mirror’s Edge ($8.99). All four have the standard green Xbox 360 case spines and cover art visible.

GRINDSET 1993
1
Title:
GRINDSET 1993

2
[The following is an Eddie Vedder-like GRUNGE ROCK GUY from 1993, but he’s doing a modern, grindsetty, LinkedIn-lunatic-style diary]

5am:
Sleep is for wimps - I get up at 4am and have a two hour session of Avoiding Selling Out.

[Show him sitting up in bed, staring intensely ahead and going HURRRR]

3
9am:
I'm layering the moment the thrift store opens - ten minutes late is for losers.

[Show him putting plaid shirts over other shirts first thing in the morning in a charity shop]

4
10am:
I'm *always on* - every interaction is a business opportunity.

[He's walking down the street and an OLD LADY approaches, gesturing to her little dog who is poking its head out of a roadside ditch]

OLD LADY:
Excuse me -

5
OLD LADY:
Please can you help me pull my dog out of this ditch?

[Grunge guy looks out camera - he’s had an idea]

6
[Cut to a 90s-style music video with MTV-style titles below telling us what the song and band are called]:

DOG IN A DITCH by Ditchdog

[Grunge guy sings “Daaawg in a diiiitch….”]

7
11am:
Dog In A Ditch wins an MTV award so it’s time for another Avoiding Selling Out session

GRUNGE GUY [holding in MTV award]:
HUURRRR

8
12pm
Working lunch while I craft effortfully scratchy lyric sheets for the album inlay

[Show him doing this]

9
2pm:
Hit the studio to make an extremely inaccessible third record

[grunge guy in studio singing YOU’RE ALL GONNA HATE THIS while surrounded by white noise, accordions, etc]

10
4pm:
That's gone platinum (sad face) so it’s time to have another Avoiding Selling Out session

GRUNGE GUY:
HUUUURRRR

11
8pm :
After dinner me and the band hit the Staring Intensely Out Of Shot Gym to work on our stares

[Show the band in a gym, just sitting on a weights bench staring intensely out of shot instead of exercising]

12
9pm:
One last Avoiding Selling Out session, Bovril, bed.

[He’s back in bed, holding his Bovril, looking intensely ahead, going HURRRR]

[Ends]

Listing them all like this really throws into stark relief how .. uh, immoral? .. it is to charge the same amount for every pizza topping. $2.49 for ham, and $2.49 for black olives? Basil? Garlic? These things have very different cost bases. Also, yarr, that be Aloysius in the corner. 🏴‍☠️
Screenshot of a pizza topping selector app showing a scrollable list of meat and vegetable options (Meatballs, Ground Beef, Canadian Bacon, Ham, Salami, Anchovies, Chicken, Eggplant, Black Olives), each with an unchecked checkbox and a +$2.49 price. A red ‘Add to Order’ button at the bottom shows a total of $17.99. Part of an orange tabby cat’s face is visible on the right edge of the frame.

Another random classic video game magazine from @gamehistoryorg.bsky.social! This time it's the August '92 edition of Game Players for Nintendo. I'm excited to go back to the SNES era. Dive into the thread below for fun finds in the mag, and feel free to follow me for more of this stuff every month.
Cover of the August 1992 issue of "Game Players Nintendo Guide," a worn magazine held up against a blurred indoor background. A blue banner across the top reads "ZELDA III - ALL HIDDEN ITEMS REVEALED!" next to a small painted illustration of Captain Hook in a red coat and plumed hat. The masthead "Game Players" appears in large red italic letters over a shattered-ice background, with "GP Publications, Inc." above it and a purple starburst reading "Published by GP Publications, Inc. Not affiliated with Nintendo of America Inc." A black-and-silver bar below holds the words "Nintendo Guide" in yellow. At upper left, white text reads "SNES HOOK! LOTTA GAME!" The central artwork shows RoboCop, a silver armored cyborg with an exposed human mouth and chin, striding forward with a large gun. Cover lines on the left in white caps list "NCAA BASKETBALL / THE ADDAMS FAMILY / FERRARI GRAND PRIX / THRILLA'S SURFARI / SUPER HUNCHBACK," then "PLUS" in red with "100+ NEW GAMES AT SUMMER SHOW!!" and "BASEBALL STARS II - NES Pennant Fever!" To the right of RoboCop, chrome-and-red logo text reads "SNES ROBOCOP 3 HITS THE STREETS! See the Movie, Play the Game." A yellow starburst at lower right reads "KABLOOEY FIRST SNES PUZZLE GAME!" Below RoboCop, riot police in blue uniforms and helmets fire weapons. Bottom left has a UPC barcode, the price, "AUGUST 1992," and a white mailing label with printed address text partially obscuring the art. Fine print at the bottom reads "Nintendo, Super NES, and Game Boy are registered trademarks of Nintendo of America Inc."

A delicate white flower alongside a dandelion-like seed head. The flower features numerous elongated white petals with subtle lavender streaks, creating a graceful and intricate appearance. The petals fan out, showcasing a soft texture. The green stem of the flower is slender and supports a single flower with a few leaves at its base. Above it, the dandelion seed head is shown in a state of dispersal, with thin, wispy seeds that appear to be floating. The background is softly blurred.
