So far this year we've had: the warmest winter on record in the mountain west, a record-shattering heat wave in Europe, once in a thousand year rainfall and flooding texas and forest fire smoke blanketing the mid west and the north east. Feels like something's going on with the climate!

The Republican-backed House passed the Ratepayer Protection Act, which could rein in some data center costs but extend the life of costly old coal plants.

Throwback Thursday to post from 3(!) years ago, and we're just now getting to a point where police and electeds understand what I was talking about.
Twitter post from September 2023: I strongly suspect fully half of the negative experiences people have with teens on "E-bikes" involve a vehicle like this.

Namely, something that a normal person would consider to be an E-bike but is essentially an electric motorcycle.

New report from IRENA confirms that "in prime solar and wind regions, hybrid solutions combined with storage deliver round-the-clock power at lower costs than fossil fuels." Renewables+storage = round-the-clock power, cheaper than fossil fuels, in an ever-widening set of geographies. Pretty cool.

So instead of 18 cents of every gallon going to fund building and maintaining infrastructure, including public transit, zero of it will go to those things. Plus any increase in gas prices that results goes 100% to oil companies.
