The two leading climate hawks inside the Senate tent sponsored permitting reform, which isn’t stopping the loudest climate hawks outside the tent from trashing it as a fossil-fuel conspiracy. Everyone’s always in on it!

I was on a talking head TV show with Sam Donaldson (a loud but non-ideological reporter) in 2011 and I’ll never forget his incredulous reaction when I said solar would get super-cheap and super-mainstream: “Are you joking? Not in my lifetime!” It’s not something Americans want to believe.

One way I try to convey the scale of the chaotic insanity of 9/11 is that I was in the newsroom writing the Washington Post’s lead news story that day, and I have absolutely no memory of the plane hitting the Pentagon a few miles away.

It is funny (and a little frustrating) how angry people are getting about the very small amount of land and water that data centers use. Agriculture uses extraordinarily large amounts of land and water! Data centers are not what's eating the earth!
