It's not that analogies to ISIS or North Korea are inaccurate. But it actually lets Hegseth off the hook for what he, Trump, and the entire MAGA movement, including John Roberts, are trying to bring America back to. And it's not ISIS, it's the Jim Crow South. That's the analogy we should use.

The less comfortable truth about Hegseth wanting to livestream the execution of the Fort Hood shooter is this: it's not ISIS or the Taliban. It's not medieval barbarity. It's simply a return to the neoconfederacy, where executions of minorities were done for the public entertainment of white people.

Rule # 1 of winning debates (and elections) is force your opponent to fight on your turf, don't ever wander onto theirs. Pedophile protector party has zero space to talk about people's lives & choices - attack your opponent not the people your opponent shames, blames and reviles.

This is Nazi rhetoric, full stop. It's not only a call to instigate a race war in the United States, but it's reminiscent of historic European justifications used to incite pogroms against Jews. People who say things like this are incredibly dangerous, as there is nothing they won't eventually do.

CORECOVIC, a FOR-PROFIT company that makes millions locking up KIDS at its Dilley, Texas detention center, has a PAC that's sending campaign checks to

Collins chairs the Senate committee that writes ICE's budget. ICE is CoreCivic's customer. The company gets paid out of a budget she controls, and it pays into her campaign

Something I've found completely galling from wide sections of the left is that Ken Martin is doing exactly what they have long advocated for at the DNC--democratization, decentralization, robust local investments--but they don't actually care because they think it's more fun to just crap on things.

Just to be clear, with legislation you can pack the Court or radically restructure it. You /cannot/ set a term limit in contravention of the plain Constitutional text, and anyone suggesting that is not to be listened to, because they’re either incompetent or trying to quiet-kill reform.

There are two things to learn from this: 1) Third Way gets to present what the Democratic Caucus plans will be because they're the ones inside the room making them; 2) Dem staffers often don't realize that they're wholly captured by this centrist consultant-industrial complex. It's fish in water.

Incredible. First Secretary Mullin claimed that DHS had identified 15,903 noncitizens on Nevada’s voter roll. Then DHS officials told a skeptical Nevada, no no no, that’s just people we flagged. Here are the names of 185 people we KNOW aren’t citizens. All 185 were citizens. DHS got 100% wrong.
When the Department of Homeland Security sent Nevada a list of 185 names last month that it claimed identified noncitizens who had been improperly allowed to register to vote, state election officials got to work.
On Tuesday, the state sent a strongly worded rebuke to the federal government: Every single person on the list was a lawful citizen.
"As for the 185 individuals, our records indicate that they were citizens," Greg D. Ott, a deputy attorney general in Nevada, wrote, according to a copy of a letter sent to Department of Homeland Security officials obtained through open records requests.
"You have provided nothing of substance to suggest otherwise."Following the meeting, Ms. Vogt sent a clarifying email to Nevada officials. "I also wanted to be sure I clarified that we did not reduce the 15,903 to 185," she wrote. "We've manually reviewed some of the 15,903 and confirmed 185 are not U.S. Citizens."
Now, Nevada officials are saying even that 185 number is wrong. They also took issue with a letter D.H.S. sent them in early September, in which the agency reiterated its initial claims about nearly 16,000 noncitizens on the rolls and pressured state officials to review each case in a letter to Nevada officials in early September.
