the time i spent working with this team will always be my fondest gamedev memory. i'm just glad that we even got a chance.

MechWarrior 2 soundtrack, hell yeah. even the music that played while the game was installing was iconic

can i opt in to this captcha forever? this looks so much more fun than trying to decide whether 5 pixels of tire are considered part of the bicycle

wow, migration using goat was ridiculously quick & easy after getting all the needed tokens. now i just need to come up with some hot takes about decentralization

Elton Muuga @elxx.net · 11/07/2025

I’ve been running a PDS since it was released, but at the time migration instructions came with a big “you may permanently wreck your main account” warning. I guess it’s safer now though so i may as well try it

this feels a lot like the "just use next.js!" narrative that react documentation turned into, when the suggested framework has a "pricing" tab i have questions

It has action, it has drama, it has a mysterious hidden bystander who is probably annoyed at the whole scene. 10/10 this is what living with multiple cats is like

In much of the US, it’s the last week to register to vote in the US election in November. Do not miss your opportunity (and if you are registered, to check your registration to make sure it is still valid). Get registered and encourage everyone you know to register. Here’s where to start: Vote.gov

vote.gov

Find the information you need to make registration and voting easy. Official voter registration website of the United States government.

You get a PDF of the ballot, mark it with your votes, and e-mail it back to the county election official. It's certainly not the most sophisticated system and the security is questionable, but Montana is so small that we don't really make a difference anyways 🙃

Elton Muuga @elxx.net · 22/09/2024

I was an overseas MT absentee voter in 2020, they sent me both a mailed ballot and an electronic one with the choice to return either one. So it is both, in a way.

A lot of the "$99" price was also heavily dependent on mail-in rebates, you'd pay $1000 at checkout and have to make a bunch of copies of the UPC codes and mail them to random addresses and hope to get paper checks back in 6-8 weeks that you could deposit to get the discount

It's a smol but lovely place. Congrats on the launch!

heck yeah. the steam deck and switch are both great, but i still get that nagging "i'd rather be playing this on a pc" feeling too often. can't articulate exactly why, but i never felt that with the vita. perfect form factor, great games, such a cool little device

It is very cool how every site can make remote requests to 812 different ad providers no problem but me trying to talk to localhost is a security risk

imo it's a bit odd that all labelers are always selected by default when reporting, regardless of category. i don't want "stop the beans" to be overwhelmed with run of the mill spam when they clearly have a far more focused and important mission

Elton Muuga @elxx.net · 15/03/2024

so what you're saying is that now is the prime time to go post a bunch of bad takes and then cite this when the backlash rolls in
