The first Peanuts strip by Charles M. Schulz was published on October 2, 1950.
Four black and white panels of a boy and girl sitting on steps.
1st panel: Charlie Brown is approaching and the boy says:
"Well! Here comes ol' Charlie Brown!"
2nd panel: As Charlie Brown passes, he says "Good ol' Charlie Brown...yes, sir!"
3rd panel: "Good ol' Charlie Brown..."
4th panel: Once Charlie is gone, "How I hate him!"

I am waiting for a phone call, & so answered a number I didn't recognize. Me: What is this about? Lady on the line: Working with you on a book that has come highly recommended to us. Me: Oh! You're a scam! I didn't realize. Her: Your book wasn't that good. [hangs up]

It's the point in a novel draft when I wonder how many times I can use the word "thrum." (Please don't tell me. This is a decision every novelist must make on their own.)

There’s such an easy answer to this “gotcha” question and it’s “Sports are inherently unsafe and unfair and it’s ridiculous to single out trans athletes when we allow 150 pound linebackers to go up against 260 pound linemen in freshman football on a daily basis. Let kids play with their friends.”

Instagram post from the official Muppets account: Few humans have earned the title of honorary Muppet more than the legendary Tim Curry. As a performer he was unparalleled - witty, charming, unnerving, and deeply funny. We will always consider it one of our greatest treasures to have been part of Long John Silver’s crew. I want to add that Dolly wrote this song less than a decade after eugenicist Harry M. Caudill's Night Comes to the Cumberlands was published, pathologizing Appalachia during the country's "War on poverty." That "Despite your contempt, the things I love are worth loving" part runs DEEP.

I actually think the trillionaire saying his AI tool will remake a movie without the Black and trans actors in it should be a bigger story because it’s a perfect example of why the ruling class wants AI to succeed: so they can remake reality without those they deem undesirable - every nazi’s dream.
