This stage of the AI push reminds me of peak cryptocurrency, which was supposed to change everything. I was never afraid of blockchain the technology, I was afraid of the people behind it, and their vision for the future.

Can't wait to ship this one: being able to mount the file systems of Kubernetes nodes, pods & PVCs to the Finder.

Kubernetes on... a car?
A screen in an Audi A4 running Apple CarPlay, showing two widgets, one with a donut chart rendering the pod statuses of a Kubernetes cluster and another one with a line chart rendering the cluster's CPU utilization as time series. The widgets are generated by Nautik, a Kubernetes GUI native to Apple platforms, that I'm the main developer of.

this. claude code is no better atp than opencode or codex. there is no "secret sauce" and their derangement about guarding its source so closely just shows how much they have their head up their ass every time it's leaked, ppl just point out how its nothing special and then get DMCA'd into the sun

The more I hear Chris Lattner talking about Mojo and its roadmap, the more I want to try it, even though I don't enjoy writing Python and am probably not the main target audience. Especially Zig-like comptime metaprogramming sounds cool. Great podcast episode! signalsandthreads.com/why-ml-needs...

PostgreSQL, the open source database that continues to get better, is introducing oauth support. This should help with database automation and hopefully bring us one step closer to moving away from static credentials and copying usernames and passwords around. www.postgresql.org/about/news/p...
Security Features

PostgreSQL 18 introduces oauth authentication, which lets users authenticate using OAuth 2.0 mechanisms supported through PostgreSQL extensions. Additionally, PostgreSQL 18 adds several features to validate and enforce FIPS mode behavior, and also adds the ssl_tls13_ciphers to let users configure which TLS v1.3 cipher suites the server can use.

This release deprecates md5 password authentication in favor of using SCRAM authentication that was first added in PostgreSQL 10. md5 authentication will be fully removed in a future major version release. Additionally, PostgreSQL 18 adds support for SCRAM passthrough authentication with both postgres_fdw and dblink when authenticating to remote PostgreSQL instances.

Inside you there are two wolves. One is active, the other one is on hot standby and becomes active if the first one fails or is taken down for maintenance. Add more wolves as necessary for increased redundancy load balancing. A quorum badger can be added for environments with multiple active wolves.

The problem with most machine-based random number generators is that they’re not TRULY random, so if you need genuine randomness it is sometimes necessary to link your code to an external random process like a physical noise source or the current rate of US tariffs on a given country.

How are people using OIDC with kubectl or other Kubernetes frontends? Do you expect your client to direct you to a login page and back, or do you expect to manually supply the ingredients for a token refresh (like initial ID token, refresh token, etc.) to the client?

If Tesla goes below $114 Musk will get margin called. This forces him to liquidate his shares which will send Tesla stock into a death spiral and his whole empire will crumble. Musk will do anything to prevent this. And Trump will too. So… keep the pressure on.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.
