Yes. “If you defund and deplatform anti-racists then that will force their movement underground, and then they will be truly dangerous!” is never, ever an argument you will hear from the right-wing media. Because they know very well that defunding and deplatforming *actually works*.

It is breathtaking. Like many things these days it is hard, but necessary, to figure what is a continuity and what is a rupture. EdTech has always been a private sector parasite feeding off the public sector. The rupture is AI EdTech is experimenting on the rich instead of the poor.

A sale or two at my shop would be a colossal help. This helps support me as a fabric artist, unofficial town sorcerer, and human being. I'd love for you to check out my Jeremy Creatures. Each one is designed and hand-sewed by me and takes many hours to create. jeremycreature.bigcartel.com
Here's a lovely photo of a plethora of hand-sewn fabric art creatures. There's a watermelon creature with a red face, eight black seed-like eyes, and a wide mouth with five sharp teeth. There's a white ghost trinket bag covered with purple embroidered flowers. She has a gray face, sparkly black eyes and a little frown. There's a strawberry creature with three bulbous green eyes. There's a watermelon ghost, and a black creature with sharp teeth wearing a bulbous eye earring. There's a large purple creature with many yellow eyes and an open mouth, with a little green creature popping her head out. All the creatures are sitting on green fur and there's a galaxy print fabric in the background.

Let's talk about Versailles.
Renderings show an ornate and gilded interior that departs from the simplicity of the original White House and echoes the look of the ballroom at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, a look he has said was inspired by the Palace of Versailles in France.

Full sheet of a USS Enterprise-A cutaway by Bruce Morser. The style is pencil line art, colour shaded and rich with little details like a plan of the bridge, warp field outlines, a shuttle, and even a portrait of Captain Kirk. Nearly all stores that sell new books can order a book for you even if they don't have it on their shelves. Here's a quick thread about how that works, and how it's ESPECIALLY helpful for writers who self-publish or have work with small presses.

LRP: requesting books from your local bookstore is a HUGE help to indie authors and small publishers! Sure, margins are way slimmer than if people order directly off the Bonedust Press website, but it gives us the potential for so much more reach. Especially if it ends up on a bookstore shelf!

satin ribbons

After unexpectedly winning her first blue ribbon for a sewn cape in 1981, Carol St. Clair Johnson developed an enduring love for the New Mexico State Fair. The quilt Fair New Mexico-41 Fair Years incorporates more than six hundred of the ribbons she won at the fair every subsequent year except 2020 (when the fair was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic). Johnson earned ribbons for needlework, knitting, crochet, pies, cookies, cakes, canning, jewelry, flowers, vegetables, and potted plants. The title of the quilt is a reference to the state song, and the design places the state's Zia sun symbol at the center. The quilt earned Johnson yet another ribbon: Best in Category (miscellaneous quilt) at the 2023 New Mexico State Fair.

One of my suggestions that I have made in my workshops is that every author should have a document repository. A folder on Dropbox is fine. A physical file folder in your desk is also fine. It doesn't matter what format; just make it a habit to file important papers every time they show up.

It takes you 20 paragraphs to get to the part of the article where they admit that Mamdani isn't paying the influencers and the reason they are posting videos of the stuff Mamdani is doing is because people are interested in watching it.
The mayor’s office says that it does not pay the influencers. Still, their proximity and access to a figure as popular as Mr. Mamdani can help increase their own social media following and, by extension, potentially put them in a position to attract paid content sponsorships from commercial brands. Some influencers said that when they feature Mr. Mamdani, the videos get more likes and viewers watch longer.

“Where’s . . . My . . . Cow?”
They backed away.
“Is that my cow?” the creature demanded, stepping forward unsteadily. It shook its head sadly.
“It goes Baaaa!” it wept. “It is . . . a sheep . . .”
Then it fell to its knees, clenched its teeth, turned its face upwards, like a man tortured beyond his wits, beseeching the gods of fortune and the tempest, and screamed:
