Happy Birthday Hugh from Animal Crossing!! ✨ #Hugh #AnimalCrossing #ACNH #NintendoSwitch

A sketch of Hugh the pig from Animal Crossing standing with his arms out, smiling. Stars are surrounding his head and there are two stars on his T-shirt.

Super Mario Sunshine is the only 3D Mario platformer in which Mario gets tired of hanging from a ledge. After 17 seconds of holding on, he will start shaking uncontrollably, and let go 3 seconds later. In the other platformers, he can hang from ledges indefinitely without issue.

After yesterday‘s clear night, I now have a first full version of a Rosette nebula mosaic with my Seestar S50. Still a bit noisy (the reddish hydrogen looks a bit mottled on small scales), but getting there! 🧪🔭 1/

Mario Kart Arcade GP contains unused early character portraits that come in "normal" and "hurt" variations. Curiously, Toad's "hurt" portrait is identical to his normal one, making him appear to either be unbothered or particularly good at hiding his emotions.

Nintendo of Europe's official 1998 German guide for Yoshi's Story depicts White Yoshi as being highly religious. He also states that his constant words of admonition of the other Yoshis' sinful behavior caused them to abandon him.

White Yoshi's bio in the German official guide for Yoshi's Story:
Translation:
God bless you, my dears(1). Well, don't I look fancy?
And so elegant? But not only is my fur(2) white,
my soul is also as clean as a baby's bottom.
Apparently, I am the only Yoshi who lives
faithfully to the word of the Lord.
That is why I often have to give words of
admonition to the others in the flock.
They sometimes allow themselves to be tempted
to do rather shameful things. Unfortunately,
the others never listen to me; quite the opposite,
they even hid me somewhere on the island.
And I just wanted to explain to them
that I had seen the light...
(1)Traditional Bavarian/Austrian greeting, literally "may God greet you".
Used in these regions as a general greeting, instead of "good day".
Likely used here to underscore the White Yoshi's religious nature.
(2)In this guide, all Yoshis repeatedly refer to themselves as having fur.
Current Nintendo materials state that Yoshis do not have fur.

the southern crab nebula ✨ image credit: NASA, ESA, and STScI

It appears to have two nested hourglass-shaped structures that were sculpted by a whirling pair of stars in a binary system.

The result is that both stars are embedded in a flat disk of gas stretching between them. This belt of material constricts the outflow of gas so that it only speeds away above and below the disk. The result is an hourglass-shaped nebula.

The bubbles of gas and dust appear brightest at the edges, giving the illusion of crab leg structures. These "legs" are likely to be the places where the outflow slams into surrounding interstellar gas and dust, or possibly material which was earlier lost by the red giant star.

Extremely stylized drawing of Donkey Kong showing a little boy "wondrous places", from a promotional story book included with Nintendo's 1999 corporate annual report.

The next evening
when he went to bed he looked at the factory and
said sleepily, ‘Please let there be fun… please let there be
fun…’. And that night, his dream showed him a powerful,
happy, fun-loving gorilla who led Nathaniel to wondrous
places… and did exactly what Nathaniel told him.
Nathaniel was having fun.

1st light on the Witch Head Nebula, just southeast of Orion near Rigel. 🔭🧪 This combines 4 hours of 3 min exposures at a wide angle from my Indiana backyard. No filter. Conditions weren't ideal: some intermittent high-alt clouds, and a popular orbit for satellite constellations (look low).
