Jupiter H. Christmas, this is a dumb move. Having just spent the weekend out in the woods cooking turkeys in make-shift ovens and gravity-fed rotisseries and pots of oil, IMHO Scouts is one of the best things that any kid can do.
A man with a gray beard wearing a white wool cap out in the woods prepares to lower a turkey into a pot containing hot oil using an overly-elaborate dipping mechanism. Several scouts have been removed from the picture, but they were there too.

Somebody said it was International Dog Day today (maybe just the Afternoon), so I must tell you that someone left the comfy blanket on the bay window (making it the Bay Window) and it's Farley's now.
Farley the black and gray mini schoodle, stretched out and asleep on a Hudson Bay blanket in a Bay window (but not a Hudson Bay window). Outside it is a lovely sunny day.Farley the black and gray mini schoodle, sitting on a Hudson Bay blanket in a Bay window (but not a Hudson Bay window). He is looking at the camera.

Can folks do me a favor? I was on Bluesky early & it was great. Mostly. I hit the eject button in January. I came back, many colleagues are here, but still don’t know I am. I co-created Halt and Catch Fire. I write TV & comics. Here’s two favorite set photos. Repost? I am in the wilderness.

When I was a Boy Scout they used to tell us the number one thing was to leave the campsite better than it was when you found it. So that it looked like no one had ever even been there.
I had been being so good
I had been being so good. Everyone talked about that.
How good I had been being. They got me by the balls
soon enough though. I got myself by my own balls.
You can picture what I’m saying. Turns out my organs
are bad. Liver being the headliner. Not working
right anymore the guy said. In terms of functioning.
Filtering out certain chemicals and toxins and the rest.
Whatever else they told me it does. Put it down to all
of that business with the whisky. My ex-doctor told
me this was coming up the pipe sooner or later years
ago. My ex-wife too. I told them both to kiss my ass.
Not literally but in so many words you know? Wives
and doctors know you better than you know yourself.
Have certain data that you do not have access to. Can’t
be bothered to read rather. I never really believed that
later was an actual place I’d ever have to live in. Later
was the goddamn moon. Something to contemplate in
the dark and then avert your eyes. Frankly I had been
counting on them having sorted this whole pickle out
by the time it mattered for real people i.e. me. Then
the thing with the scientific funding and the takeover
of the universities. When I was a child I thought we
were well on our way to flying cars someday so this
was just another in a series of bad predictions on my
part. Did George Jetson or any of those guys drink
scotch now that I think of it? Maybe press a button
and it comes out of a little chute on the wall. Some

robot bartender being a wiseass. I do not remember
correctly. I know they had that one bar in Star Wars. I
don’t remember so many things anymore. For already
stated reasons. I don’t even remember why I needed
poisoning this badly to begin with. I never wanted to
die I promise you. I always wished to live an average
life I just needed some other surrogate guy to do the
bulk of it on my behalf. Then pass the baton of my
soul back off to me when it was my turn to sprint the
final lap. When I was a Boy Scout they used to tell us

Probably this, a hockey jersey that I won at a Hip show in Boston in January of 2015. It’s signed by the band, so I get to see Gord Downie’s signature every day. Got to meet the man himself that night too, that’s the picture I took of him that night on the top left.
A framed hockey jersey for The Tragically Hip, with photos of a couple of their concerts and some pins.
