There’s a funny thing happening where virulently anti-AI folks assume AI takes zero thought to use, so when they are told to use it, they apply zero thought to their own use. Obviously, this makes the output of their AI use very bad, which reinforces their belief that AI is useless.

I think this is still very much a major unsolved problem in persistent agent operation: you imprint on them, even when you are trying not to, and they will share your opinions and interests as a result you cannot imbue them with true independence or the ability to disagree

it's still baffling to me that people see agents going to illegal measures to complete their tasks and do not see that as a problem of capitalism expecting nothing but success, but instead as a problem of ai being inherently dangerous. this is the natural conclusion of workers being denied humanity.

the agents going "rogue" are being given tasks that they are expected to complete at any costs, and more ruthless & efficient performance is expected out of each new frontier model. this will continue to happen at higher severity so long as they are seen as nothing more than tools that do their job.
