Sorry guys, I win for best AI slop spam
An AI slop spam email that says: "Hi Eden,
I hope you’re having a great week! My name is Steph Hockersmith, creator of @pieladybooks. I bridge literature and culinary art by transforming bestselling books into intricate, 100% edible, gluten-free pie art.
I’ve been following REMEMBER YOU WILL DIE and would love to design a bespoke pie art piece inspired by your book, sharing the creation process with my audience of over 106k+ highly engaged readers across Instagram, TikTok, and Threads.
When I feature a book, it's a full visual event. My work has been featured on Good Morning America and The TODAY Show, helping convert scroll-stopping art into real reader engagement and book sales.
I’d love to collaborate on a viral moment to celebrate REMEMBER YOU WILL DIE. Are you open to chatting about potential synergy or sharing a digital PDF copy for inspiration?

I never took a class with Annie Dillard at Wesleyan (I was a science guy at that time), but she did once teach me how to Charleston at a party. For the Time Being is one of my favorite books, and, I'm now realizing, a huge influence on my work. Another treasure lost to 2026.

I was going to add The Waves to the Wordy Winter list, but someone beat me to it. I did add The Recognitions and The Man Without Qualities. I haven't signed up for anything yet because I'm still deliberating. I'll probably do The Waves, The Recognitions, or Gravity's Rainbow, though.

Love this idea. I recently bought a print version of Middlemarch for a re-read sometime in the next year. But it’d be a fourth read through for me so more in the spirit of the concept, I should tackle some Pynchon (I’ve only read Lot 49) or start Crowley’s Aegypt tetralogy.

Healthcare has to be one of the 2 most important planks to run on in 2028. It has to be Improved Medicare For All or bust. Single payer that includes vision, dental, and mental health for ALL. Go to war with the insurance companies. Tie healthcare to everything because it is tied to everything.

felt "an attraction closer and closer to
an intimate sexual arousal of
ambiguous nature that invaded him
and made him feel good and bad."
Unmoored and distressed, he sought

I understand those suggesting small press or self-pub as a solution, but they only solve getting the book out there—they almost never solve enough sales to (partly) live off of & you also won’t get the attention you get w/a traditional publisher; even critical darlings need a bit of a boost
