Clarion West On-Demand Courses. Making Your Words Count with Marie Brennan. Do you struggle with making your writing concise? Have trouble drafting flash fiction, or fight to trim a story down enough to squeak under a market's upper limit? Please note, as this is an on-demand course, the instructor is not available for questions or feedback, nor is there an organized group story/feedback exchange included. Hey all, I'll be teaching how to write endings for your stories c/o @clarionwest.bsky.social on October 9! More details at the link: secure.clarionwest.org/nx/portal/ne...
Rendering Justice: The Craft of Endings with Vida Borja Cruz
Oct 9
Online | 7:00—9:00 PM PT

Have you ever gotten stuck on a story because you didn’t know how to end it? Learn how to give everyone, from the main character to a side character with no speaking lines, their just desserts in this class on writing endings through a justice framework.

This class is for writers of all skill levels—just come with a story that you have no ending for yet.

Together we'll explore:

Different definitions of justice and how to apply them creatively
Deciding—and then writing—endings
You'll leave understanding:

A “Desire, Decision, Deserve” framework for figuring out endings that feel right
A firm understanding of how to approach and apply concepts of justice in fiction
This class is limited to 20 participants. Because this class relies on discussion and collaboration participation and attendance is essential. We may ask you to contribute by voice, video and/or chat. Participants must be 18+
