It was 9 am & 98° when "Genaro" and "Ian" took a break under the shade of the irrigation trailer in Coachella CA. They're preparing the land for winter vegetable crops. Extreme heat turns soil into dust and their work ensures it can hold water as planting is beginning. #WeFeedYou

Another day, another preventable food safety issue. If only there were some company that did food safety monitoring! Oh well, I guess we do not exist.

India food safety crackdown targets company of Nepal's 'Noodle King'
India on Friday ordered a Nepali billionaire's company popular for its Wai Wai noodles to discontinue some products after an investigation found its factory used unhygienic "floor-collected, broken ‌noodles" in making its Indian snacks.

Thanks to those that have purchased the book so far! The royalties from this book will help offset the costs of running this Food Safety startup, but only if a lot of people buy it. I don’t have kids, so consider this my asking you to buy Girl Scout cookies or whatever Boy Scouts sell… popcorn? 😉

If you want to actually know what you’re talking about when arguing with AI Bros online, this is your ammunition. Everything you need to know to logically dismantle any argument about AI inevitability or how AI can replace people. $3 so that you don’t look uniformed while discussing AI is a steal!

There is a section in this book about why they can’t just “change the AI code so it will not do Bad Things” that should be required reading before BlueSky users are allowed to comment on AI stories.

Our system lets consumers scan a barcode that shows the origin of the beef and every processor it passed through before getting to you, in addition to information about the animal itself and how it was cared for. US Grocers refuse to use it because they do not want you to know! Adopt us, Canada!

This may seem self serving, but at what point do we demand e2e food traceability for businesses of all sizes? All the businesses turning me away are “too small” to be required to perform basic safety checks on the food they sell you. I think if you have a retail location you should monitor. Period.

It is very discouraging to keep being told by food purveyors that they are “not interested” in a system that would help prevent food borne illnesses during a time when every single day there is a new story about food safety issues. Especially considering we offered it free to some of them. 🤷‍♂️

Just so you know that I practice what I preach! Here I am using a Meater probe to ensure this Tri Tip roast is cooked to the perfect (and safe!) temperature.
A tri tip roast with a Meater temperature prove sticking out of it sits on a metal grill over a charcoal fire with smoke pellets added. A tri tip roast sliced after resting. The roast is sitting on a white cutting board with a fork in front and a chef’s knife behind it. The strak is dark brown on the outside and bright pink-red on the inside. The thermometer said 135F which is medium rare, but since this was cooked at 125F for 4 hours in an immersion cooker before finishing on the charcoal grill, it’s very tender.

This. I offered to provide *free* food safety monitoring to three local food companies today. They all said they were “not interested” in tools to prevent their customers from getting sick and dying. They do not care about you, only money. Food used to be able connecting people, but no longer.

Very discouraged today. I had meetings with several well know local Portland food businesses this morning. I offered to give them 100% FREE access to our system and $3000 in free hardware. One said “we don’t have monitor food safety because we are small so we don’t care.” All of them turned me down.

When I started building this platform, (a multi-year journey) I wanted it to become the “TurboTax of FSMA” where farmers and small businesses didn’t need to read and understand hundreds of pages of laws, they just had to answer some questions and enter data (or preferably use our sensors) to comply.

Dear Canadians, our system not only supports FDA regulatory compliance but FSIS as well. We ingest all US and Canadian food recall data so we have the latest recall information as it is released. If using our inventory system you will automatically be notified of recalls that affect your inventory!

One thing our platform can’t do is comment on whether or not a particular regulation is necessary, but we can help you keep track of imported products so you can prove to the cheese police that your brie is legal.

This is why you should collect your own data so you can prove to your customers that you actually care about their safety. How many brands out there are rebranded Taylor Farms? With our software you will KNOW where your suppliers get their food. Check out our site if you are involved in food chain.

It is going to be interesting to see the stats on the number of foodborne illnesses over the last little while. Lettuce, cilantro, eggs now… It’s like having an oversight and regulatory body with enforcement powers is important as business has shown time and again that it cannot regulate itself.

This is the sort of thing the Food Safety Modernization Act was supposed to prevent. While the current administration has not made Food Safety a priority, we have! Our system is designed to offer a holistic view of the food supply chain, using Traceable Lot Codes to identify contamination sources.

EatSafe.tech @eatsafe.bsky.social · 03/07/2026
Our Food Traceability system would be able to identify the source with the scan of a barcode. We could be preventing so many people from getting sick if grocery chains cared more about people than profits. If you’re a grocery chain and want to keep your customers safe, visit eatsafe.tech for info.
