The Chinese get it (and it's aligned to their thinking I guess). Caving to Trump will only make you weaker when the next demand comes, and it will come. It's about dominance and power. The liberal rules based order (however flawed) is dead. Europe needs to recognize this and act accordingly.

I had a prostate examination. It wasn’t pleasant but it was quick and minor. The consultant talked about how many people my age haven’t had one and should. So I said I’d casually mention it in case it encourages others to. So I am. And also I’m posting it on Bluesky. Consider contacting your GP.

The open disdain these men have for teachers is just gross. And notable too: the connection to ClassDojo should be further evidence of the platform as a vehicle to surveil, control, and punish. If there was ever a time to develop a Luddite praxis in education to resist/refuse AI, now is that time.

I’ve been digging into the quality of EHCPs, plans that parents are dragged through court sometimes to obtain, and that are bankrupting councils What’s actually in them? Are they good quality? Personalised? Include interventions backed by evidence? Are they fully funded? The answer often is no

If we had actual edtech governance this kind of admission in the media would have the ICO on your doorstep tomorrow asking for DPIA and we’d have governors asking why such ridiculous tech is used in lessons. As well as the sustainability when these children are already inheriting a burning planet.

I find it depressing that be NCSC flagship event cyber U.K. has absolutely nothing for education. The last thing it did was a terrible panel in 2021 Education is in the top three targets for criminals, but we can ignore it all for vendor talks by USA companies which will say nothing
