Big big Mapping Prejudice data update today: We have updated our Washington DC racial covenants data to include 20,000+ covenants that were previously identified by our collaborators at Mapping Segregation DC. The combined DC dataset is now at 27,600 covenanted parcels (and counting!).

A map of racial covenants in Washington DC. Covenants, marked as green polygons, cover wide swaths of the District outside the central city, most densely to the north and northeast. Other large patches are present in the southwest and southeast portions of the district.

Infuriating on its face at least. Georgia State University, my former employer, is canceling a TA position for someone because they have been harassed by DHS. Hoping some of the faculty in his department are speaking up for him. I don’t see uni administrators- especially at GSU - doing so.
