A colleague said «You can’t smell PC sweat.» I think of that a lot. And of Grace Hoppers nanosecond cable. Another colleague made a script that checked for a file, looping until there was one. The network traffic was noticeable, so we added a couple of seconds pause to the loop and were both happy.

We are completely sold on AI being a pivotal factor in attacks that will require its own defenses, but AI is not going to be using Star Trek guns for everything. It's gonna be the same stuff that gets it through all the other defense layers, same as human attackers. Stick with the core mandate.

The course on the Fitzroy River in Rockhampton, Queensland, has passed an independent technical assessment into its suitability.
The assessment did not consider the crocodiles”

September Windows Server updates break Remote Desktop Services
Windows admins report that the September 2026 security updates are causing Remote Desktop Services (RDS) failures on Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025 servers, preventing users from connecting and, in some cases, requiring a hard reset to restore functionality.

Keen to see if any of the companies that were hacked by OpenAI or Anthropic will sue them. Someone has to take responsibility for this, and the blame is almost entirely on the leaders of these AI companies. Alternatively, hacking is just legal now until a court says otherwise? What a fucking mess.
