My first #parkrun as VM65. Also my fastest since 2023. Also welcome to a cohort where 25:46 gets you sixth place out of eight, and a more typical run would have seen me solidly in last place.

Quite pleased with this. It is (geek alert) my modal parkrun time, with this being my sixth 25:48 run. I ran 25:47 in October last year and haven't been faster than that since 2023. If I'd been one second quicker I'd also have beaten the first MV70.

One of my biggest first-world whinges: a new toothbrush, where the legal disclaimers are in 12 languages, five of which I read fluently, and the instructions are in hieroglyphics which no-one understands. I have found that the phrase "can I just TALK to someone?" works much better than "at Santander, my voice is my password". Always fails at the first attempt, which riles me up exactly the right amount to nail the intonation and emphasis on the second go.
