Went down a rabbit hole of digging into the Edinburgh council budget and wow do people not understand the budget pressure from social care for the elderly when they spend their whole time complaining about potholes and bins

I've spent the afternoon, in and amongst trying to work, WhatsApping my mum, trying to get her access to her emails. She now tells me she's looking at her email inbox 🤬

Whenever I hear these stories from France about the school riots, where they are describing schools as dilapidated as those I attended in the UK in the 1980s and 1990s, I just think that rioting was the very last thing on our 15-year-old minds as we dealt with the tree growing through our classroom

I had this bit about Jeffrey Archer from the 1995 HIGNFY video memorised for whenever I needed a handy fact about him.

I just switched off the radio, so I'm not 100% sure, but did our galaxy-sized brain LOTO just say "government is not about winning elections"? 🫪

Jeffrey Archer's death has oddly reminded me that in my Cambridge days, we used to walk to Grantchester to do some rubber-necking at the Old Vicarage after he was imprisoned

A few series ago Victoria C-M said that they had done that analysis and it had broadly the same accuracy/ response rate sad the other question types. IIRC picture clues were slightly less well answered.

Someone should do a statistical analysis as to whether the musical questions on Only Connect are actually more difficult (i.e. more commonly answered incorrectly) than the other questions

I do love Morrison's business model borrowed from Soviet states in the 1980s of reducing costs by not purchasing stock to sell. Such an innovative approach to grocery retailing. Not sure of its long-term viability though
