Impossible to make the case *especially* with fed deficit as your central issue! Above the inexcusable, amoral horror show of such a "reshaping", we have arguments outside of that lens which *still* make it clear it is a completely meritless, ignorant decision assured to harm U.S. interests.

My son attends a relatively small US university. Yesterday, I learned one of his professors was deported for “visa issues”. The prof now teaches the course online. It’s not reported in any media outlet that I can find. Every day. All the time. Let us never accept this chaos and destruction.

Hey. Something enormous is being built in Kansas City out of public view. The government is building a massive new multi-agency immigration complex: a new Immigration Court, a huge ICE/OPLA office, a new USCIS “Kansas City Mission Center,” and CISA space, all in the same building. I got the plans.🧵

Friday morning, I was gardening when I checked my phone. A request had gone out for help. For 25+ hours, ICE had been laying siege to a quiet neighborhood in Frederick, MD. Community members were afraid, some didn’t want to leave their homes. ICE vehicles seemed to be lurking on every corner.
ICE vehicle - black Nissan Maxima with plate cover - posted up in a spot that also serves as an elementary school bus stop. Another ICE vehicle, black Dodge Durango, lurking around the community. Two more ICE vehicles - black Dodge Durango and a white SUV, unclear on make, model - on a quiet residential street, being quietly creepy. Note that the white SUV has its plate covered. Yet another ICE vehicle. Black Nissan Pathfinder. They were all over the neighborhood.

Longtime political operative Roger Stone also suggested in a blog post co-authored with conservative activist Shane Trejo in January 2025 that pardoning Hernández could have political benefits for Trump. In the post, Trejo and Stone — who was pardoned by Trump five years ago after he was convicted of obstructing a congressional investigation into Russian election interference — urged the president to “crush socialism and save a freedom city in Honduras” with a “well-timed pardon” that “could be the final death blow to [Xiomara] Castro” in the 2025 elections.

Eventually, Stone took on a more direct role in advocating for clemency when he gave Trump a four-page letter Hernández had written to the U.S. president, asking for a pardon and making the case that his conviction was a “political persecution” by the Biden administration. In a text message with ProPublica, Stone said he had received the letter from a journalist who’d gotten it from the family. He emphasized repeatedly that he was not compensated for his involvement.

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. suggested Wednesday an aide to Pennsylvania’s Democratic governor, Josh Shapiro, may have fabricated two deaths from measles in an attempt to score political points.

Kennedy’s statement, in an X post, came as part of an escalating feud between the health secretary and the governor since Pennsylvania’s health department announced two “measles-associated” deaths Tuesday.

as of April 2026 renewables are beating gas -- 35% is from gas, a little over that is from renewables

History is constantly being obfuscated, appropriated and rewritten. The “Lost Cause narrative” drives much of what we see today from the legacy confederacy. Truth is subjective. It is what you can flood the zone with and convince people is true. This is all inherent to their beliefs.

H.R. 1981 — 119th Congress
The Drum Break Protection Act of 2026
A bill to protect the sanctity of the drum break in "In The Air Tonight"
Whereas the drum break occurring at approximately the 3 minute 40 second mark of "In The Air Tonight" by Phil Collins (1981) represents one of the most anticipated musical moments in recorded history; and whereas the interruption of a person awaiting said break constitutes an unconscionable act against human dignity — be it hereby enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled:
Section 1
Short title
This Act may be cited as the "Drum Break Protection Act" or, colloquially, "The Phil Collins Act."
Section 2
Definitions
For purposes of this Act: "The Break" refers to the drum entry at approximately 3:40 in "In The Air Tonight" as commercially released. "The Window" refers to the period beginning when the song starts and ending 10 seconds after The Break concludes. "Interruption" means any spoken word, question, tap on the shoulder, phone call played aloud, or unsolicited sound directed at a listener during The Window.Section 3
Prohibited conduct
No person shall knowingly interrupt, distract, or otherwise disturb an individual who is audibly or visibly awaiting The Break. This prohibition applies in all public and semi-public spaces including but not limited to: vehicles, offices, living rooms, and elevators.
"The air-drumming that precedes The Break is a sacred preparatory ritual and shall be afforded the same legal protections as the moment itself."
Section 4
Penalties
Any person found in violation shall be subject to the following civil penalties:
First offense
Mandatory apology + $50 fine
Second offense
$500 fine + mandatory listening session
Third offense
$2,500 fine + community service (Phil Collins playlist, 40 hrs)
Section 5
Exemptions
The following shall not constitute a violation: (a) genuine medical emergencies; (b) fire alarms; (c) the spontaneous collective air-drumming of others present in the room, which is instead encouraged; (d) Phil Collins himself, who may do as he pleases.Section 6
Effective date
This Act shall take effect immediately upon enactment, as it was frankly overdue by approximately 45 years.
