I find that as I get older, the world gets simultaneously quieter and louder at the same time. Spaces I used to walk through with ease, I need earbuds to stand in, and I hear so many noises all at once that I often need things repeated. It’s an odd phenomenon.

The advice "Don't make your first project a overambitious sprawling epic" is good. The problem is that I don't think people can really learn that lesson before they ignore the advice and just do it anyways. Sometimes you have to throw the baby into the pool to teach it how to swim.

My character for a friend's upcoming campaign - Pala, a faun druid from a secluded forest whose love for all life is boundless. They're all too eager to learn what wonders the outside world holds, but might be a bit unprepared for some of the realities. #art #oc

A gangly faun character, a little more antelope-like than goat-like, beaming with enthusiasm (and displaying chipped buck teeth in the process). They have bushy long red hair, the sidelocks turned into long braids, and wear a long green-and-blue tasseled cape. The staff they clutch is a long, gnarled tree branch, with shelf fungi growing on one corner, a woodpecker poking out of a hole in the next, and a rhinoceros beetle clinging on at the end.
