After spending the day rolling across the city on BIXI bikes, they returned with a clear verdict: “It’s even better than Paris.”

Metaphor

I created the original work back in 1988.
Only after many adjustments did it remain afloat as I intended, and it was exhibited in a basin at gallery Kunst+.
I took the photograph in 2008. That was when the object began to come alive for me again. I took it outside again. It was on display (and also missing for a week) in the Ravenstein Sculpture Garden in 2017, and in 2019 I was nominated with this sculpture for the Francois Schneider Competition (water artworks).
So there is a sculpture and a photograph.
The photograph on aluminum has a maximum edition of 25.

I am offering the actual object separately.

The Graduate Hotel in Providence is old style. It was originally The Biltmore, designed in the Beaux-Arts style. Now it is a Hilton property. It has resisted any corporate style updates or refurbishment, and staying here is taking a step back in time. Stay true, Biltmore.

Padded red leather headboard, white pillows and sheets, black and white striped throw pillow.

Wallpaper that looks like full bookshelves. The red/light blue motif isn't cozy, but it is interesting.

A wall of framed photographs of random people - maybe celebrities or notables but I don't know. All I know is that they are all out of level and it is taking everything I have to not nudge them in to line.

Put my hand on a bison rubbing stone today. It’s been sitting here since it was dropped by a retreating glacier at the end of the last ice age. The sides are smoothed from generations of bison rubbing on it. Good to think about that now and then

In these trying times, may I also offer this eagle perched out in the yard yesterday morning? Not for any eagle flag emoji nonsense, but just because it’s a big pretty bird with a surprisingly seagullish squawk who came to visit just because on its way to the marsh?

A man in my neighborhood grows a long swath of dahlias each year; he told me that he does it to carry on his late wife’s love of dahlias. They are BODACIOUS and bring me so much joy.
