Working on the industrial design of the Copper Charlie was one of the most interesting projects I collaborated on over the last 5 years. This battery equipped induction range slow charges so you never have power spikes and it plugs right into a standard US 120v wall outlet. No special installation.

EV are more reliable, cost less to run, are better for the environment, and put less cancer and asthma causing pollution into local communities.... and used ones are typically a bit cheaper than used gas car counterparts. Not many things are win/win like this these days.

We live in a neighborhood of mixed housing types. 🏡 1/3 individual homes. 🏢 1/3 is apartments. 🏰 1/3 is Reed College. Folks in homes can easily charge their EVs but the apartments have no chargers. Thankfully the college has public access EV chargers. It’s great to see them in use so often! #ev

A single gallon of premium gas down the street in Portland costs almost as it does to fully charge our EVs. Imagine getting 12 - 14 gallons of gas for about $7… and never having to get an oil change, exhaust repair, or spark plugs…

I took a tap to pay express bus across Seattle yesterday to get to one of our favorite vegan friendly restaurants up here (Cafe Flora). While at the stop I noticed that it was paid for by Biden’s infrastructure bill… now if they could just switch from dirty diesels to quiet electric busses next! 🚌

First time seeing one of these new Honda Prelude EVs on the street in Portland. Not only is it much uglier in person (just look at where the apex of the roof is vs where the head of the occupant would be, giant nose, random side vent) it also absolutely should have been an EV and not a hybrid.

I’m starting to see a lot more VW ID Buzz electric vans around Portland now that dealers are discounting them $25k off sticker to get rid of them. The original price on these was just way out of wack for the charge speed and range. They are nice to see around though. #ev
