Is your ivy flowering? Please don't cut it back if you can avoid it! At this time of year in the UK, ivy flowers are a brilliant late season pit-stop for hard-pressed pollinators like bees, butterflies, hoverflies and moths 🐝 #gardening #wildlife #nature

Oh my goodness, Ribe! 🇩🇰 Possibly the loveliest town I have ever been to, bursting with Danish charm and hygge. The cosiest cafes, the prettiest streets and houses. Three nights here before moving on 😊

A green wooden door with stones steps leading up to it covered with flowers in flower pots. Yellow brickwork around the door. I spent yesterday afternoon in the garden, trying to work out which shrubs we have definitely lost in the drought and which might have survived. Gardeners - is it a good idea to cut back dead branches on shrubs now or wait until the autumn? I want to give them the best chance and am NO expert! 🍂🍃

In the hot dry weather many are putting out shallow bowls of water in gardens to benefit wildlife. Could you do the same in your local churchyard in a shady place? Ponds are unsuitable for churchyards but a container with shallow edges or a ramp so small mammals can climb out can be helpful. #CFGA
