Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 5hStill feeling a bit low, so went to the lounge and 2 of my favourite people were there, so I've had a good natter and now feel much perkier. I'm going to cook some spicey rice for tea 😁 2230

Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I've had both my flu jab and the covid jab 😁 AND I walked to the pharmacy and back, on my own! Ok it's only 270 steps each way, but I haven't been out on my own for many, many years, possibly since 2019 ish 💃😁🎉 332465
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I was in an incredibly sad and bad mood yesterday. Everything hit me I think, but I slept well last night. Today I'm going for my flu jab and hopefully covid too. It says "having or have had radiotherapy" if I'm having it in a few weeks I hope that counts. Otherwise I'm showing them my scars 🤷 3190
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Stuff is sinking in. The tumour was 25% larger than they expected, hence the new test, the oncotype thing in the US Plus my extreme fatigue, since February this year sedms to have registered with them. Hence the lack of clarity as to my treatment path as yet ie no hormones yet in case I need chemo 6130
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 29/09/2026This oncotype testing is new, and it means my tumour is being sent to the US! The tumour was larger than they expected once they dug it out. 450
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Is Blue Lights realistic? If so, why are the population so horribly nasty to each other? And what's with that wall ffs? Maybe cancer has changed my thinking as I've watched previous series, but for goodness sake if you like Belfast be nice, if you don't then go elsewhere. Be nice! 200
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Had the excitement of a fire alarm. 3 fire engines turned up. Unfortunately we have a stay in place policy so I couldn't admire the men in uniform. Disappointing 🤭 I think someone burnt their toast. Peace has now resumed. 5170
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 29/09/2026In the last 6 weeks I've bought 14 bras 😱 Only asda ones but even so 😁 380
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Apparently I've healed beautifully, that would be the huge amounts of protein. I mentioned that my allergies had suddenly reappeared after a year of no allergies, but she didn't seem aware of the allergy/cancer research. I'm having a Burger King as my treat on the way home 😊 5450
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Ok I'm out. It's grade 2, they are sending it for oncotype testing which will decide whether I need chemo as well as radiotherapy. It'll take several weeks for the results to come back so I've time to recoup my energy. Lymph nodes all clear so that's good. I'm tired now xx 20580
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 27/09/2026At the moment I'd rather take naughty drugs and feel like me, than live with this excruciating exhaustion. But I'll wait until Tuesday, ok. I think, maybe 🤔 grrrrr!!! 4120
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 27/09/2026I thought the 6 week wait for surgery was the worst I'd ever felt, but no, waiting to find out the results on Tuesday is the worst when I can barely put one foot infront of the other through exhaustion. For a few days after surgery I felt normal ish, but that was the fe****yl wasn't it 😳 13210
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 26/09/2026I'm still in bed, resting and being cooked for. I'm watching Bergerac. This is exactly what I need 😊 3330
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Need to work out some good colour combinations for small lap blankets for men, or women. If you have any good colour combinations do tell me 🧶 10100
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Ok I've opened my raffle white wine 😁 I need to go to bed soon x 0100
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I've got my appointment Tuesday, where they'll tell me how bad the cancer is. I've a feeling that I know already. If I'm wrong then there's something else major going on inside...... This exhaustion is unparalleled in my life. 21210
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I spent £5 on raffle tickets and won a bottle of decent white wine and a Primark embroidered cloth bowl/basket, so I did quite well. But that cloth bowl/basket will be excellent for my crochet/knit gift donation to the next raffle 😀 2180
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Next time there's a raffle I might donate a nice basket of wool and a promise to teach someone how to crochet or knit a lap blanket/shawl. 5461
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 25/09/2026My flowers blanket was raffled today for the cancer ward, and the lovely lady who does all the cooking won it. She was over the moon! That made me so happy. I had some lovely comments and one gentleman asked me how many years it had taken me to make, so sweet 😊 4360
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I've just spent an hour or so with my neighbours. It's exhausted me but I'm glad I did it. Plus I won a couple of raffle prizes. The pie was mince and onion and the peas were mushy peas, plus we had jelly and ice cream for pud, it was fun. 2270
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Trump is only "one of the most powerful men" because we let him be. If we all ignored him he'd be nothing. 2121
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I've a pie and peas event in the lounge to go to later. Not sure how long I'll feel ok to stay, but hopefully long enough to enjoy the pie, and to find out why the police were here. I'm going to attempt porridge again this morning. 2140
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Apparently the Housing Association renovations to my old neighbour's house now mean that much more can be heard through the kitchen wall. I'm so unbelievably happy that I'm not there any longer 😁 0181

Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Boob news Left boob now has a big dint in the middle so it looks like i have 3 random bargain basement boobs 🤷🤭 But ... I'm 65, thankfully not 30 with 3 small kids so I'm very lucky, because that would have been horrific. I've always felt that I'm a lucky person, and I most definitely am 😁 4270
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Anyway..... It appears that I'm now in the inner circle for information (we don't like to call it gossip 🤭) I have the demeanor that invites confidences. .... it's becoming very Miss Marple here. There's a poison pen writer 😲, AND a thief!!! No murders yet though 🤫 6300
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Look! My inner me obviously feels that this cancer is survivable, as I've started buying huge balls of wool again 😁🧶 173338
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Can't face any more porridge drama so I'm going to have a bacon butty 3150
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Thought I'd try some high protein porridge. Microwave is now coated in porridge. Need to make it in a big jug next time. I'm ignoring the mess and have brought my coffee back to bed. 8250
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Remember my flowers crochet blanket. I started making it and a week later found out I had breast cancer, I finished it the day after I had surgery. I don't think I'll want to be reminded of that, so I've donated it to the cancer charity we raise funds for here. Better it raises money for them. 2537420
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Went to coffee morning, came away with a slice of corned beef pie. Never had it before, it was delicious, she's such a good cook. 2250
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Finally had a good sleep, nearly 8 hours with lots of REM and deep sleep. It's coffee morning later which will require me showering which is no easy feat currently. 1200
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 21/09/2026I've dug out the list of groups/classes near this, my new home. There's an art class, knit & natter, walk & talk, craft, gentle exercise, pilates, local history etc etc. I'm out on the pull first chance I get 🤭 Common interests, best way of meeting people. 3210
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Being cared for following breast cancer surgery is lovely and I'm very grateful but a week is enough. Any longer and all the joy and humour of life will be sucked dry and I will be a mere husk. I'm getting back to living, and laughing 😁 2290
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 21/09/2026I'm one week post surgery so have a more demanding set of exercises to do. I can do the arm stretch up the wall completely 😁 I reckon all this crochet has been good exercise for my shoulder etc. 5450
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Nobody warned that as the nerves in my boob try to mend themselves they would cause dreams of romantic encounters from decades ago 😳 Can't decide how I feel about this. 1180
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 21/09/2026@mrsmhere.bsky.social take care. Sending you love and kind thoughts xxx 000
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Some of the crochet squares I'm making. They will be joined to make a big winter cardigan 🧶 1023615
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Was so exhausted I was asleep by 9pm. Just got woken by fireworks/bangers! Bas****s. I could sob with weariness. Fortunately a friend is awake and is coming to make me a cuppa and calm me down. Just heard another one! 6170
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Exhaustion has hit me today. I'm still in bed, dozing on and off, and dreaming of roast beef joints. I might be hungry. 2300
Gill @crikeys.bsky.social · 17/09/2026I had major tummy wobbles/cramps today. Apparently that's all the anaesthesia and drugs leaving your body. But despite that I got dressed and I walked to lidl 😊, obviously I had help to carry my shopping home as I'm not meant to lift anything, but what a lovely walk. Did my exercises, now bed x 9430
