Alex cartoon: two men in suits stand with drinks in a living room looking at a stereo while a woman speaks to them: “ALEX, CAN'T WE HAVE SOME NICE CLASSICAL MUSIC INSTEAD OF THIS MODERN STUFF?”She continues: “THIS IS SO PRETENTIOUS. IT'S BORING TO LISTEN TO AND BASICALLY A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY.” Alex replies : “YOU'RE SUCH A PHILISTINE, PENNY.”He turns back to the stereo: “THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS WORKS IN THE MODERN REPERTOIRE AND I KNOW OF NO PIECE THAT BETTER DEMONSTRATES THE UNSURPASSED CLARITY OF C.D. SOUND REPRODUCTION.”Penny looks at a CD case. “WELL I THINK ITS A RIP-OFF... JOHN CAGE WRITING A COMPOSITION THAT CONSISTS OF 4 MINUTES 33 SECONDS OF TOTAL SILENCE.” Alex says to his friend: “LISTEN TO THAT, CLIVE. ABSOLUTELY NO BALKGROUND HUM OR HISS EVEN AT FULL VOLUME...” Clive: “AMAZING.”
