Being an American is… taking my cat to the vet for his annual exam before I even get a new PCP because i don’t have health insurance because i haven’t been with my employer (which is in healthcare sector) for 90 days yet, and i always expect to pay OOP for vet appointments soooo he comes first 😻

What makes a writer objectively good at writing? Is it when the majority of readers agree that the writer is good? We all know that there’s some writing, just like any art, that’s simply bad. Ofc not everything is going to be a banger, and there are plenty of acclaimed writers I don’t care for.

Literally. All we have is the present moment. And the type of people who chastise those who spend money on things that make them happy, are definitely the same type who enjoy about 1/6 of their entire day every day, because otherwise they’re working miserable jobs or sleeping.

If you’re anything like me you might visit the Cleveland Museum of Art and pass by this painting and think, wait, was this vandalized? No. This man is a real early 1800s person and these glasses are legit. He had sensitive eyes apparently. Relatable. Had to get a sticker of course.

Nathaniel Olds is pictured here in standard European-American 1800s garb, as the subject of this oil painting. He is angled away from the painter but his eyes look straight ahead, albeit concealed by green tinted futuristic looking glasses with three separate lenses on each side to cover even the sides of his eyes.
