Aaand after. The crust truly says “homemade”. I used brown sugar instead of corn syrup. I’m not sure if I liked it tbh. It was also filled with pecans and I’m used to the store-bought which pretty much has them only on top. But I’ll try again in the future!

Literally every time I see or hear the phrase heavy rain, I think about the game. So good. Almost certainly watched PDP play it as I was an OG bro JAAASOOOON

If you’re anything like me you might visit the Cleveland Museum of Art and pass by this painting and think, wait, was this vandalized? No. This man is a real early 1800s person and these glasses are legit. He had sensitive eyes apparently. Relatable. Had to get a sticker of course.
Nathaniel Olds is pictured here in standard European-American 1800s garb, as the subject of this oil painting. He is angled away from the painter but his eyes look straight ahead, albeit concealed by green tinted futuristic looking glasses with three separate lenses on each side to cover even the sides of his eyes.

my signs for the day of solidarity
one sign reads POETS FOR GOOD. the other says “got salt?” in the form of a salt shaker drawing. excerpts from Renée Nicole Good’s award winning poem

for a fellow poet, some words and an appended prayer. it could be any of us—especially the good.
Renée. You did not deserve to die this way.

Now that I’ve seen the video, I see.
I thought if I was peaceful, I’d be safe.

Now I see that presence, existence
justifies death in evil minds, and

Renée, you did not ask to be a martyr.
You did not ask to be murdered.

And now we see.

~

May your energy empower our words
to be wholly good,

your words compel our actions
to be rooted in love,

and your actions drive us
to demand the freedom to live.
