Summary:

In seven years of coaching, Viktor would have never dreamed that Yuuri would be forced to defend his Olympic title while a global pandemic and a doping scandal are haunting the figure skating world—least of all that he would do so injured. The Winter Games are barely over when an even greater calamity disrupts their perfect little sphere and forces Viktor to decide where his allegiance lies. As Yuuri prepares for the final competition of his life, Viktor thus returns to the place he has not set foot in since he hung up his skates: Russia.

This story is my way of processing the events of the 2022 Beijing Olympics and the weeks after leading up to the World Championships in Montpellier.

i've read so many of the latter... the thing is, when smut writers say a "GOOD" sex scene, I think people assume we mean one where everyone is fulfilled, has great orgasms or sth, but we v much do not. a "good" sex scene is simply a subtype of action scene; it has a narrative and executes it well.

If the whole world was a hermetically-sealed pod that contained no one but him and Lan Zhan, he could bluff like none of it ever happened. The memories would be just that: memories. He’d fold them up, origami of the mind, and stick them under the center console of his brain with a wad of well-chewed gum. Bam.

I made my best friend, who can be super critical of any kind of fictional story, watch Heated Rivalry, and she called it "witty, cute, innovative delightfully spicy, and not the typical cookie-cutter concept a lot of Western series follow". It's good to have friends that aren't chronically online.
