Fuck off. If anything is "millennial", it's those cool transparent colors our iMacs, Gameboys, and Tamagotchis came in. No fucking millennial likes the house flipper grey. Call it a millennial paint job when I can see through the exterior of a car because it's Glacier Purple like my GBA.

I don't spend as much time on social media as I used to. Part of that is not needing the constant reminder of every horrible thing happening in the world. Because fucking hell, there are so many horrible events. Part of it is also that it's been quite a challenging year, for better and worse.

So what's next? No idea, but I'm trying to go outside more and try and meet people offline. I want more friends and maybe even a partner. I've also been learning to drive since May, which is way easier and less scary than I thought. So that's something.

A rather life changing yet sad revelation, because it means I've wasted 20+ years of my life hiding from the world & now have to make up for lost time. I lost so many opportunities, I buried so much of myself growing up in order to survive. To not be hurt even more than I already was. It's rough.

Because of that friendship, I recognized signs of a PTSD episode in February and talked to my psychologist about it. In April, they confirmed that I met the criteria for CPTSD.

Recently I ended a friendship I really wanted, it changed my life for the better in many ways. But the negatives began to outweigh the positives and It's just too hard to try and be friends when there's no place for me in their life. Ending it broke my heart & led to a very rough couple of weeks.

We need to stop viewing art as a product, especially independently produced art. Expecting artists to just churn out work quickly because you want it is not only extremely selfish, but also deeply undermines all of the work that goes into making art good. You can’t rush art.
