There's a good chance that no studio would've taken a risk on Sinners had it not been for Ryan Coogler's proven history with IPs like Creed and Black Panther. Dude's beyond talented regardless of course, but the point is, there's a symbiotic relationship to be had with originals and IPs.

Definitely not happy the merger got approved, but I’m not gonna bow my head in despair. I’m still fighting for a brighter future for filmmaking no matter what and I know this merger will only hurt Ellison in the long run. No matter what, I’m still holding strong for good movies.

Coyote vs Acme showed us that even if the odds were seemingly impossible for it to be saved, some people were still stubborn as the Coyote in defiance until it finally got the release it rightfully deserved. Forgotten Island has the “newest major PG-rated family film” distinction until WB’s Cat in the Hat in November, similar to Wild Robot in September 2024 until November’s Wicked and Moana 2. Unless the PG-13 Wildwood breaks out with families, Forgotten Island should have good legs.

If you want to know why I still remain optimistic about the future of Hollywood, just look at the history of the Looney Tunes and their extremely rocky relationship with WB and you'll get the answer. CVA recently showed us that even if you don't win the battles, perseverance will always win the war.

Good limited animation is essentially a moving comic: the designs give the drawings appeal. Come to think of it, maybe that’s why comic strips like Peanuts and Garfield translate to that specific animation type so well.
