Another huge end of an era for animation and they just did work for the upcoming Cyberpunk Edgerunners sequel as well! Lots of animation hubs have been closing this decade and even more than ever lately and it’s definitely more than just the pandemic as the lack of consistent work is another factor…

There are much legal complications. Context: it took over 20 years for WB to tear down the legal wall it had with Cartoon Network to allow for crossovers like in Jellystone, MultiVersus, and the Scooby-Doo Courage movie. It’d be more messy with Nickelodeon, especially in a de-merger event.

Nickelodeon COULD survive beyond cable, but they haven’t embraced streaming as much as they should (they used a Netflix deal partially to dump stuff they didn’t care for, and Paramount+ takes EONS to get new episodes) and Paramount mismanages films like Avatar Aang. Just bleak.
