Ossoff: "They've unleashed federal agents to kill Americans on the streets of our cities with impunity. That's Mike Collins's immigration policy. And that's what you'd expect from the bigot congressman who called for executed immigrants by throwing to their deaths out of helicopters."

I am angry tonight. Because tonight ICE shot a New Yorker. They shot a New Yorker while his five year old child was in the car. ICE makes this city less safe. We want them out. Now.

Democrat-led Arizona, Virginia Quietly End Medicaid Coverage of Care for Trans Youth, Acquiescing to Trump Demands
The policy changes, which go into effect on October 13th, see Arizona and Virginia join Kansas as states where Democrats have needlessly opted to restrict Medicaid coverage of gender-affirming care.

“Normal” gets used to harm people, destroy art, disrupt lives. It’s as banal as discussing things we like and dislike, setting up certain kinds of art as weird, useless, necessarily awful. We condition ourselves to think like this when it comes to people, because people make and enjoy art.

Including some of my very favorite people in the world. The thing is, though, they don’t try to make me feel bad about disliking this omnipresent very popular thing. It isn’t “normal” to like a TV show, and it’s not “abnormal” to dislike it. For lack of a better term: don’t normalize the concept.

I’m not here declaring my hatred. I just feel like we need to be careful when discussing people who like or do not like things. We’re in an age where even if you’re not a fascist, there is enormous pressure to be “normal”. Normal has always been false, but it’s really useful for fascists.
