The frustrating part is that I would love an assistant who reminded me to pick up dry cleaning or took a memo or whatever AND GOOGLE HAD THIS! I could tell my phone to remind me to call my mom when I got home, or at noon or whatever and it WORKED. And then they shifted to AI and it's all crap.

I have been going to the same eye doc practice for nigh on 20 years. The head doc just retired and, thankfully, sold the practice to the next most senior guy. I am profoundly grateful it's staying basically in the same hands where profit isn't the sole or every primary motivator.

So many things have gotten VASTLY better over the past 40 years, but I'll limit myself to just one: surgeries. We do fucking miracles with teeny tiny incisions these days. Cheaper, faster, safer AND more effective.
