When I lived in Germany, I bicycled a lot. There were bike paths everywhere, even in the rural town I lived in. When I wanted to go somewhere, I just went. I never had to carefully plan out my route to figure out how to avoid getting killed by drivers.

A campaign for *MSF* to be banned as a terrorist group (on the paper thin basis of claims about 2 past employees) is the product of the UK Govt being willing to divorce any meaningful conception of societal threat from its use of proscription powers. Govt needs to wake up to the madness of this:

"In the service of cowboy culture, faith has increasingly become a mallet the religious right uses to beat the drums of war" I started reading Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove's Revolution of Values book before the war on Iran started, and its relevance to today's events is eerily striking.
The cover of the Revolution of Values book by Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove. It shows a clinched fist in the centre, a Christian cross on the wrist, on a background of distorted and disconnected stripes shaped like a whirlwind with autumn colours. On the top left, there's a cluster of stars on a blue background reminiscing of the American flag.
The subtitle reads: Reclaiming public faith for the common good.
