Discworld QOTD, from The Wee Free Men
The stories never said why she was wicked. It was enough to be an old woman, enough to be all alone, enough to look strange because you have no teeth. It was enough to be called a witch. If it came to that, the book never gave you the evidence of anything. It talked about "a handsome prince"... was he really, or was it just because he was a prince that people called handsome? As for "a girl who was as beautiful as the day was long"... well, which day? In midwinter it hardly ever got light! The stories don't want you to think, they just wanted you to believe what you were told...

There are way too many & daily complaints of Waymo robots illegally blocking egress from ~every possible venue (eg garages, parking spaces, and fire stations) to post them anymore, but this and its comments are good examples. Waymo robots don't know/obey what Paul Baran called "kindergarten rules."
Today I was temporary detained by a Waymo
Commuting

r/phoenix - Today I was temporary detained by a Waymo

I pulled into Nobel Eatery (amazing sourdough bread) As I was pulling out to leave a waymo pulled up behind me a man got out. The. The car just sat there. I slowly backed up and it just honked at me. 5 minutes later the man came out and said it was his Waymo and he thought it would park and wait for him to return. He then went back into the store. I attempted to back up slowly again and it honked again but didn't move. There were at least 7 open parking spots around me. This damn thing didn't move until the guy got back in.

Continue to backup, even if it honks. It'll eventually move.

Saw this happen to someone the other day, someone took a waymo for round-trip and stopped at a store, waymo decided to just stop in the middle of the parking lot behind someone about to leave. The waymo did move after a couple minutes, just for it to move 20feet and park behind someone else about to leave

Yeah, if Waymo doesn't program the parking spots, The car's simply wait next to the parking spots, sometimes across so they block two parking spots at once.

I never do round trips with Waymo anymore because of this

Turns out you can still have a crappy mic sound, even after all these years. You and your co-host can go for a record to see how many times "uumm" is said in an episode. You, yourself, can talk an awful lot of drivel that needs removing. Having a cold is crap. In such a bad mood now.
