Think it says a lot about a society where the most popular TV program is one that is all about people conning others.

Super loud slow hand clap for Apple. No longer doing country-specific curation for podcasts. Wonder why? Have they been told to do this? Or is this the latest example of a once pretty good company becoming like Microsoft, ie. sh*t. If you podcast, follow @podnews.net podnews.net/update/apple...

Don't forget, podcasting is SOOOOOOO much more than famous people talking into microphones. Some of us know what we're discussing. No shade, more a point to seek out the indies, as that's where the good stuff is. Not all of us fit an awards category either. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The joy of design. It’s subjective. Think they both look dreadful with the 3er almost a crime. Undoubtedly great to drive, fantastic range but I’d never buy one (for many reasons not just design).

I wasn't a massive fan of the concepts as I thought they were too derivative, but the execution has really been poor and emphasised the gulf between concepts and reality. Bad work all round, IMO, either get the concept closer to reality or do better with the final thing.

Read this thread. Its really, REALLY good. I so wish that this sort of clear and intelligent analysis was being done on autonomous vehicles. But it isn't. The companies are being allowed to lie and con and push a false narrative.

I drive on rural roads daily and the road competence is what that survey is highlighting, via the medium of performative safety. Drive me mad. So many are so bad at driving full stop and then add what you’re saying and it’s what we get on the roads.

Andrew Clews @crackedwindscreen.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
The article is fine, as it goes into detail about how much of a bullsh*t “survey” it is. People are scared of rural roads? Stop driving, don’t go there or take lessons to get better. NOT screw everyone else over as we race to the bottom.

Discworld QOTD, from The Wee Free Men
The stories never said why she was wicked. It was enough to be an old woman, enough to be all alone, enough to look strange because you have no teeth. It was enough to be called a witch. If it came to that, the book never gave you the evidence of anything. It talked about "a handsome prince"... was he really, or was it just because he was a prince that people called handsome? As for "a girl who was as beautiful as the day was long"... well, which day? In midwinter it hardly ever got light! The stories don't want you to think, they just wanted you to believe what you were told...
