Despite not understanding humor, Vulcans are consistently funnier than ai comedians, all without needing to steal someone's joke (and ruining the delivery).

If I want one thing from my intermittent fame, it is to be as fondly remembered as Peter Lorre was; a staunchly pro-union actor who animators kept putting in cartoons as way of middle finger to their bosses. I can think of no greater honour.

Eight years ago today, Susan Collins voted to confirm Brett Kavanaugh. He went on to help overturn Roe v. Wade. She still says she doesn’t regret her vote. Give her something to regret on November 3. Vote her out.

Televangelist Jim Bakker-- seen here bawling as the FBI drags him away-- finally kicked the bucket. Age 86. WHY do these creeps never die young? He and his gruesome wife Tammy Faye were the faces of Christian Nationalism in the 1980s. Here's my Bakker story:

MAGA hatred of the new pope is not a sign of how progressive he is. He is still the head of a conservative organization that swindles the poor, hates LGBTQ+, has enough wealth to solve many world problems but does nothing about it, and is one of the largest child sexual abuse organizations on earth.
An old man that still hasn't brought fire and brimstone down in the child-rapists in his organization.

So much talk in Europe about "immigrants and culture." Yet, European movie theaters full of US films, TV/streaming full of US content, radio/Spotify full of US music, cities full of US fast food chains, social media platforms 95% English. But not a peep about "protecting national culture" from that.

In the 9th century, an unidentified irish monk, living in what is now part of Germany, wrote this poem about his cat, Pangur Bán (white Pangur). The poem compairs his cat's pursuit of mice to his own pursuit of words.
The 9th century manuscript from Reichenau Abbey open to the page with the poem about Pangur Bán.An animation frame from the animated film, The Secret of Kells. The white cat Pangur Bán is walking in a field of repeating purple flowers that are all drooping down in arches, bowing in the same direction.English Translation by Robin Flower (1912, The Poem-Book of the Gael[6])

1. I and Pangur Bán, my cat,
  'Tis a like task we are at;

  Hunting mice is his delight,

  Hunting words I sit all night.

2. Better far than praise of men

  'Tis to sit with book and pen;

  Pangur bears me no ill-will,

  He, too, plies his simple skill.

3. 'Tis a merry thing to see

  At our tasks how glad are we,

  When at home we sit and find

  Entertainment to our mind.

4. Oftentimes a mouse will stray

  In the hero Pangur's way;

  Oftentimes my keen thought set

  Takes a meaning in its net.

5. 'Gainst the wall he sets his eye

  Full and fierce and sharp and sly;

  'Gainst the wall of knowledge I

  All my little wisdom try.

6. When a mouse darts from its den,

  O! how glad is Pangur then;

  O! what gladness do I prove

  When I solve the doubts I love.

7. So in peace our task we ply,

  Pangur Bán, my cat, and I;

  In our arts we find our bliss,

  I have mine, and he has his.

8. Practice every day has made

  Pangur perfect in his trade;

  I get wisdom day and night,

  Turning darkness into light.

On a base level, it's nice to get new followers, but I don't really want to be followed by accounts that follow 20k just to get people to follow in return. I want followers that are actually engaged with the community, and actually like my music.

Music is a passion for me and writing my little blurbs about it is a lot of fun. 😊 But having people actually spend their money on music because they read one of my recommendations is an incredible feeling on it's own! 🤯 So to everyone who supported indie artists yesterday, thank you! ❤️

I've gone to Oktoberfest at least once per year since it resumed post-covid. This last time, it was like a switch got flipped. I've given the fest a fair chance, but I have found it thoroughly unpleasant. It feels very dystopian, especially when leaving, and passing all the begging refugees.

Being a musician, but having the wrong brain chemistry so I hate the kind of music that most people like. (Also having the wrong brain chemistry, so I'm obsessed with music instead of just being happy in my pointless cubicle job)

There is a school thought on writing that says "writing is only interesting if people are arguing" that leads writers to force characters to act contrary to thier personality. Alanah here is highlighting what I think is a better way to think about writing characters. Now I really want to see this.

I've got a lot of things in the pipeline right now, but nothing with a clear release date yet. I am trying to follow the example of my peers here at bluesky to grind away at my projects. Also, I want to collaborate more. Just did vocals for someone's song and I can't wait for the finished release.
