The dream of every Muslim is simply to be treated the same as any other New Yorker. And yet, for too long, we have been told to ask for less than that, and endure hatred and bigotry in the shadows. No more.

The “Debate Me Bro” Grift: How Trolls Weaponized The Marketplace Of Ideas
Among the attempts to create hagiographic eulogies of Charlie Kirk, I’ve seen more than a few people suggest that Kirk should be respected for being willing to talk to “those who disagree with him” as a sign that he was engaging in good faith. Perhaps the perfect example of this is Ezra Klein’s silly eulogy claiming that Kirk was “

I've said it before, I'll say it again: pitch it as increasing SCOTUS to at least 100 Justices, with randomly selected pools of 9 to hear each case, such that no single Justice matters so much.

These examples were first try, and the only selection I did on the photos was choosing a couple that I took and didn't mind sharing (no personal stuff). Eerily accurate, especially the downtown skyline shot—100% accurate. And this is with GPT 4.1 Mini!
These are both real-world examples. Neither image had any metadata associated with it. Both captions are accurate.

Input image: Photograph of a classic muscle car on an urban street	Generated caption: Yellow 1968 Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible parked on a city street with a brick building and chain-link fence in the background.

Input image: Downtown Night View with freeway nearby showing slow shutter headlights
Generated caption: View of downtown Austin, Texas at night from the roof of a condo, showing light trails of vehicles on a busy highway near the Lady Bird Lake and Riverside Drive exits.

Spun up a quick tool to generate captions for photos using OpenAI GPT 4.1 Mini. The captions are automatically added into the image metadata (exif). Makes them more searchable on iOS and macOS. Cost: $1/2k images.

I just fixed a wifi connection issue by going to geocities .com. 😂 I'm out at a brewery. My laptop connects to the wifi fine, but nothing loads. I curl -vv stackoverflow and it complains about a self-signed certificate. Shoe in for a captive portal, and HSTS prevents the redirect from working.

Going hard in the Car & Driver comments.
I do appreciate how honest Trump has been about his second administration.

He has said that he wants to return to the Gilded Age. The time of Robber Barons. Black Friday of 1869, when cronies of the President cornered the market and sent the economy into a nosedive. Teapot Dome, when oil execs paid off cabinet officials to get oil leases. Corruption from top-to-bottom by the richest using the US government as they saw fit.

Letting Elon regulate self-driving cars, letting cryptobros abolish the agency the regulates crypto, firing government officials who disagree with the president - at least Trump is honest about what he wants to achieve.

I don't know if Americans skipped the history classes when the Gilded Age was taught.

But I'm pretty sure that Trump doesn't realize that "Gilded Age" was a historic burn penned by Mark Twain - gilded means a cheap metal covered in gold. Shining on the outside; worthless on the inside.

Prior to the election some friends and acquaintances were frustrated with our two party system. Some voted third party, even. I can’t help but feel like they all took for granted that we’d have at least two parties. Not sure that’s panning out well as we speed toward a one-party system.

The White House has shared the equation used to come up with these tariffs. It was almost certainly AI generated, and it's boneheaded. This is not a serious presidency, but it's seriously eroding the power of our representatives, and our power abroad.

The United States has lost. Not to any external adversary, or to an economic pressure, or even an enemy from within. It has lost to ignorance, and a desire for more of it, that has led us to elect a leader hell bent on achieving it. It’s sad, and sadder still, entirely expected.
