Bran sat patiently in the darkness ahead of the others, the glow illuminating only the withered and sunken face of the Black Gate. Jon, Sansa, Arya, Rickon, Sam and Dany stood in silence. The door opened its eyes and asked, "Who are you?" They all answered at once: “I AM!”

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that most people don’t want the truth—especially not the kind that tears at the myth of progress, the lie of civilization. Because to truly see—to really let it in—would mean everything they depend on is soaked in blood and ash.

Notice how wealth class media will spend years normalizing authoritarians, giving them the benefit of the doubt, and if someone who is even considered remotely leftist and wants to help people gains momentum they'll change every rule, twist history, and attack them relentlessly.

Perhaps the request for corn could either be part of BR’s message, translated into crow / raven speak, or part of Bloodraven’s knowledge leaking out in crow / raven speak. With “corn” being a metaphor for sacrifice – so BR could be telling them they need to sacrifice something, or it’s leaking out.

It’s a good question, I suppose we’re encouraged in that direction because Bloodraven is presented to us as the last greenseer, the person who Bran has sought and found. So we don’t have any sense of an alternative. But I do think it’s still mysterious.

OK, this is wild. In September 2023, geophysicists across the world started monitoring a very odd signal coming from the ground under them. It was picked up in the Arctic. And Antarctica. It was detected everywhere, every 90 seconds, as regular as a metronome, for *nine days*. What the HELL? 1/

A GAME OF THRONES: PROLOGUE
“We should start back,” Gared urged as the woods began to grow dark around them. “The wildlings are dead.”

“Do the dead frighten you?” Ser Waymar Royce asked with just the hint of a smile.

Gared did not rise to the bait. He was an old man, past fifty, and he had seen the lordlings come and go.

“Dead is dead,” he said. “We have no business with the dead.”

Perhaps there is another way we should think about the economy.
"I would propose that we just rip up the discipline of economics
as it exists and start over. This is my proposal in this regard:
I think that we should take the ideas of production and
consumption, throw them away, and substitute for them
the idea of care and freedom.

As feminists point out, even if you’re making a
bridge, you’re making a bridge because you care
that people can get across the river. You make a
car because you care that people can get around.
So even production is one subordinate type of
care. What we do, as human beings, is take
care of each other."

Hopelessness is an important element of Neo-Liberalism.
I think there has been a war of the imagination
over the last several years. I was thinking a
lot about what there might be to be optimistic
about and I came to the conclusion that this
feeling of hopelessness that everybody has
is a manufactured product, and that’s what
Neo-Liberalism is really about. Neo-Liberalism
isn’t just an economic program, it’s a political
program designed to produce hopelessness
and kill any future alternatives."

Yes. It’s threatening humanity’s survival, much sooner than most people realise. But global carbon emissions are still increasing, they haven’t even plateaued. With our economies based on profit and exponential growth, it’s hard to see this changing – it relies on increasing energy use.

We're shocked by Trump and Musk's antics because we judge them against the idea that governments should serve the people. But they have no such intention. Government for them is simply about seizing power and wealth. Let's stop being shocked, and build a global, democratic counter-movement.
