I'm already a prepper in an amateurish way. I'm going to step it up a bit. But it's expensive, ultimately selfish and it's difficult to get relatives to take it seriously. But everybody should make basic preparation for say a week without power and all it entails.

I've been thinking about this since the first week of his presidency. I think financial collapse is, in part, the intention as the disaster capitalists and the mega rich can clean up, feeding on the misery of so many ruined families. They are parasites to society.

Is it likely that there will be a domino collapse? One small thing leads to another and another - which becomes a far bigger impact than the first domino falling over. I'd also suggest the law of unforeseen consequences will apply. Everything is interconnected in ways that aren't always obvious.

I wrote a novel back in 2020 envisioning what a permanent Trump presidency would look like. Because I don’t believe he will ever leave power voluntarily. And I think with climate change and other systems collapse, we won’t be able to get him out.

As a practical sort of person living in Northern California my neighbors, the few who aren’t celebrating Elon’s attack on our stabilizing structures, and I are trying to plan without sounding like crazy preppers. It’s overwhelming given how reliant we are on these deeply connected systems.
