Anyone have any indexing horror stories they care to share please for a presentation I’m doing soon? Like what can happen between index submission and what actually got printed in the book. I do have some examples of my own, which still make me shudder. 😱 #IndexSky

He’s back! He was meowing at the window this morning after a major rainstorm. Three days of 100% guilt and anxiety now over. He’s none the worse for wear, just stinky. I think the rain made him rethink the joys of the outdoors. Here’s a picture of him curled up with another traveller.

This infuriates me in a way that I cannot explain. The problem of the disappearing native informants is bad enough in western scholarship without AI allowing the eliding of that labor in this way. Brill should be ashamed for publishing this.

My cats have a favourite catnip mouse. Only one they play with (must be a particularly good strain, still going strong after 7 years). But what’s particularly cute is they bring it to bed at night and sleep with it like a stuffie. (Only at night, not during day sleep.) Here’s Pencil this morning.

Editing notes for a book and there is so much link rot. Over half the citations are to websites (close to 2/3 are) and of those, easily 1/3 of the links no longer work. Making everything digital is not the way. #edibuddies #AmEditing
