Nerding out about Indigenous community planning these days. Still big on fighting fossil fuel extraction, protecting nature, defending Indigenous rights and building communities that don't pollute.

Prime Minister Mark Carney is employing a Trump-inspired strategy called “flooding the zone,” where he throws so many policy announcements and new laws at us that we’re hardly able to respond. Our new report, Flood the Zone, unpacks this strategy 👇1/2🧵 #markcarney #cdnpoli

LNG Canada’s original plans for its Kitimat, B.C, plant included a commitment to operate "without routine flaring." That commitment was later removed from submissions to the BC Energy Regulator, and in 2025, almost 10 per cent of all gas transported to the terminal was burned off.

We deserve better than corporate spin from a fossil fuel corporation and the government bankrolling it. This government’s fixation on LNG expansion is deeply troubling, misguided, and disconnected from what’s best for British Columbia’s future and the current realities of global energy markets.

Gee it's interesting how when a centrist candidate wins a leadership race everybody tells the left to fall in line and blames the "division" for their poor prospects... But when a left-winger wins all of a sudden it's acceptable to trash them in a press release or refuse to meet with them.

The BC Conservatives just announced Richmond Centre MLA Hon Chan has been removed from the caucus and is said to be facing "serious criminal charges" "Our caucus wishes to be clear, any allegations of domestic violence are taken seriously." #bcpoli
Statement on the Removal of Hon Chan from the BC Conservative Caucus

VICTORIA, B.C.: The follow statement was issued by Conservative Interim Leader Trevor Halford:

“Hon Chan, MLA for Richmond Centre, has been removed from the Conservative Caucus of British Columbia, effective immediately.

Yesterday, Mr. Chan informed me of serious criminal charges against him. Prior to yesterday, the caucus and party had no knowledge of this matter or any related incidents.

Action was taken immediately upon becoming aware of these charges. Our caucus wishes to be clear, any allegations of domestic violence are taken seriously. Anyone who experiences it deserves to know that people in positions of public trust will be held to the highest standard of accountability.

Mr. Chan is entitled to the presumption of innocence and due process before the courts. Those proceedings will run their course.

The caucus will respect the appropriate process as it proceeds.”

Enough with the FALSE CHOICE between increasing infill density or increasing the urban tree canopy. BOTH are not only possible, but absolutely necessary. Good design is the key. The real design challenge isn’t building density or the space needed for trees… it’s the space we still surrender to cars.
