The biggest barrier to emissions reductions is increasingly our inability to quickly build clean energy: solar, geothermal, wind, nuclear, transmission, battery storage, etc. Projects are held back by a thicket of regulations and reviews.

Wading into the "relative versus absolute" El Niño intensity debate: I genuinely think both are important--and I think we lose important information if we focus solely on one vs another. And both, as of late Sep, have now reached or exceeded record levels! [Thread]

#BusNews: From October 1, NZTA has introduced new rules that require road users to give way to buses leaving bus stops. On roads with a 60km/h or lower speed limit, if bus drivers are leaving a bus stop, the side of the road or moving out of a bus lane, other drivers must give way to the bus.

The extent of global sea ice has been the 3rd lowest on record for the date (satellite-era) over the last couple of weeks. This was especially due to unusually low ice cover in the Antarctic. More graphics at zacklabe.com/global-sea-i...
