Indeed, which is being able to trust that things will be OK? Taxes won’t be diverted to fund gilded palaces etc.

Very good point, Scandinavian countries where there are high levels of trust in other people and governments top the ‘happiness’ tables at the moment. Another reason why right wing emotional ‘threats from others’ actually makes people less happy.

A gilded statue of a naked Trump has been put on display at the European Parliament. The sculpture, titled “Orange Plague” and also known as “King of Unfairness”, was created by Danish artist Jens Galschiøt. Standing 2.5 meters tall including the pedestal, it is covered in 23-karat gold.
The image shows a satirical, 23-karat gold-coated statue titled "The Orange Plague" that depicts a very fat and naked Donald Trump holding a golf club and sitting on the shoulders of a smaller man.

Ah, its a great idea for research but all nurses and doctors know the patients who get the medicines dispensed and keep them in the cupboard, or do get a side effect so stop one. (Joys of home-visits) See all pill counting research!

Live in Portugal with some health ‘issues’. My Portuguese teacher was upset when I started talking about this idea but the clearing of my mother’s and my in-laws accumulated stuff was/is gnarly. Have shared out the decent stuff already and plan a minimalist future because I really love my children.

I think it's absolutely mad that today there's a *national news story* about 400 oil platform workers losing their jobs, and the government being blamed. 25% of the UK TV industry lost their jobs in the last 4 years and we never hear a peep about it! Some jobs are 'real jobs' I guess.

Family holiday in France. My daughter ordered andouillettes because they were cheap. I had no idea what it was but in my laissezz-faire way let her. When it came she was “mummy this is wild boar sausage can I swap for your steak frites?” I discovered it wasn’t that and crept away. Learned something

The balaclava blackshirted thugs are a result of a decade of politicians, tabloids and the broadcast media telling racists they have "legitimate concerns." The normalisation of actual fascism rhetoric and action has led to this and is a far greater "legitimate concern" than any migrant on a boat.

So, if I understand Nigel Farage's argument correctly it is: "Everyone I trusted and elevated into a position of responsibility is constantly doing crimes that benefit me but of which I somehow have no knowledge. I am a man with the character, judgement, and intelligence to run the country." Ok.
