I've added a section on pediatric access to my article (gift link). The gist is that in some (not all!) states, even some where Covid shots are freely available to adults, there may be restrictions on kids' ability to get them *at pharmacies.* You may need to seek the shot from their pediatrician.

NEW: Lawsuit filed challenging DOD's effort to control Stars and Stripes. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
INTRODUCTION
This action challenges the U.S. Department of Defense's ("DoD") efforts to exert
unprecedented control over Stars and Stripes ("Stripes"— the military's independent news source
since the Civil War-and to erode its longstanding editorial independence and First Amendment
protections. As early as World War I, military command made clear that Stripes would not be subject to interference by military officials. See Cindy Elmore, A unique American newspaper's
historical struggle against military interference and control, Media History, Vol. 16, No. 3, 302
(Aug. 2010), https://perma.cc/QKC4-9PTF. During World War II, then-General Dwight D.
Eisenhower repeatedly directed military commanders to not interfere with Stripes, emphasizing that "Stars and Stripes is the soldiers' paper, and we won't interfere." Editorial Board, Why is the Stars and Stripes military newspaper on Trump's chopping block?, Wash. Post (June 26, 2020), https://perma.cc/B2NZ-GRRV. Stripes' historical editorial independence is critical to its core mission of providing unbiased, credible journalism to the U.S. military community, particularly servicemembers and their families stationed overseas.

Here's how Illinois news providers described the immediate or expected impact of the credits during its 2025 rollout:
• A larger publisher said the credit
"allowed us to... save jobs and roles that we did not have to make cuts for."
• A small publisher spoke to its potential attracting other support: "I could use this as a jumping off point for
fundraising for this particular position.
It's almost like a match at that point."
• One recipient said: "It will be our second largest revenue stream for the year... about 15% more. So that's a sizable impact on our ability to cover the community."
• "Payroll is our biggest expense as a small newspaper," said a suburban non-profit publisher. "The credit is a lot of money to us. It will help pay our freelancers. We have a lot of requests for coverage that we are not able to respond to, but if we can expand our freelance team and get them out to more events, that will help our community."
