Most NJ/NY parents hated the Uncle Floyd show but we loved it. And we loved Floyd Vivino, aka Uncle Floyd. The show featured fan art every day, but I was too scared to send in a drawing. Yrs later I drew Floyd for a Dr Demento album, got to meet him and tell him how much I revered him. RIP legend.

Photo taken at a signing at Forbidden Plant when the Doctor Demento: Covered in Punk album was released. From left to right is myself, Sarah Dyer, Fred Schneider, Uncle Floyd Vivino and Drew Friedman. Not seen are Dennis Diken, Doctor Demento, Jerry Only and John Cafiero. It was a wonderful event and I enjoyed it more as a fan than as someone who was part of the signing. I could have listened to Floyd and Drew Friedman talk old New York and New Jersey showbiz for days. Fun fact -- they were both sued by Joe Franklin! They both had fun stories about that. RIP Floyd Vivino, the great Uncle Floyd.

Rob Reiner was a good guy. He made a lot of movies about good guys, in worlds where not everyone was good and you didn’t have to be good. He made movies about people trying. He was angry, as many hopeful people are. He knew the world could be better and he wanted it to be. His death is devastating.
