iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

as a kid desperately yearning for freedom from many cruel things, I didn’t think I’d ever get to have this.

there’s a quiet peacefulness about coming into your own in your 30s… my life isn’t perfect, there are plenty of things I wish were different, life stress is eternal, but like. to have the means to be myself, to love myself better, to build up a safe space for myself…

I really wish that Covid hadn’t happened, but it did, and either we adapt to the reality that it makes some people permanently sick and at risk, and they still deserve humanity, or we keep scapegoating and ostracizing anyone who points that fact out, anyone who has to survive it, anyone broken by it

the narrative being a gay love story about losing one’s partner & taking their unfinished art to repurpose it into a way to honor them, for the game/house to then gain a life of its own, a living metaphor for grief & adverse experiences in different cycles of life… oh I’m gonna be so fucking sick

don’t worry I put in plenty of hate for Kamoshida too

“Umineko does portray faith as related to grief, and in general in a very empathetic and kind way” oh so you mean it was grown in a lab specifically for me.

almost every success and good thing that's happened to me through art has come from working together with other people and putting faith in communities of mutual cooperation and creation. in contrast basically nothing useful has come from any kind of weird pursuit of aloof influencer status.

The Truth Come Out: Does Beatrice is Gaster

now presented with someone different but sharing the same name and discussing all this. is Beato perhaps something that has been broken… who has forgotten her true form and her true fate………

“real magic is the power to repair, to revive. to call back happiness which has disappeared, to call back love which has gotten cold” I!!! am!!! gonna!!!

100

this all feels very related to the talk about healing and pain at the end of chapter 2. breaking is easier but fixing is harder and thus more rewarding

100

talking about altered events but ultimately unavoidable fates and brokenness……… slumped on the floor

video game nostalgia is a constant battle between "you felt that way because you were twelve" and "the video game industry liked video games back then"

I will actually fall to my knees if it happens

if Umineko is heading in the direction I think it is. then this means My Most Personal Story I’ve been writing accidentally has the same damn thesis.

and the core theme being agency and the paradox of agency. like it’s all right there

000

literally the two protagonists are disabled. albeit disability through injury, but nonetheless. Red has no voice. Boxer has no body. the consistent theme of identity via the body and grief and transformation, that they are *limited* by their new embodiments
