Well, Deno runtime development is being discontinued in a year, and Deno Deploy is ending in 6 months. Wonder how this will affect Supabase www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_g7...

New version of Nenuzo is approaching completion, including rail/train support, multi-modal journeys, and regular commutes! I am incredibly thankful for the people behind open-source projects such as MOTIS, Photon, and Valhalla, as well as the open-data providers.

Might also recommend @comaps.app which is a fork of organic maps but with much more transparent funding. It's been my daily driver for navigating in my wheelchair for over a year now. Good to see the maps being used for navigation! Do get involved if you're interested in contributing to OSM!

It's also behind a lot of handy mapping apps. I use organicmaps.app for walking and cycling routes in Sheffield because, unlike Google Maps, it doesn't send my bike up staircases or over stiles, and it has alleyways mapped.

Finally got around to working on Nenuzo again a little more in the past few days. I've been in the testing phase of train times support for a few months (because it has to have real world testing for me to figure out pain points), but I think it'll soon be ready to go out into the world.

Does EventBrite really not have a 'Download ICS' or 'add to calendar' option on the website? Maybe I'm overlooking it - there's an option for it in the app, but nothing on the website

Babe, wake up! New 'AI hallucinating basic commands' just dropped!
A screenshot from Google AI summary, showing a bash command.

It suggests that the command will download and bash-execute a 'Zitadel' setup script, but would instead actually download the githubusercontent[dot]com index page.

Bike folks: I'm looking for a pedal-assist electric bike. UK-based. Initially I want it to be doing most of the work (e.g. for hills), but I want to be able to tune the strength of the assist so I can have it weaker. I don't know what's even worth considering - preferences/requirements next post.

Good thread about the AI 'going rogue' stories which is a lot more realistic about what really happened – in short, the people were lazy and made stupid mistakes. The AI didn't 'go rogue' at all.

Would you look at that - the same folks that took over MeetUp and hiked prices also took over Harvest and did the exact same thing. Didn't know they'd also acquired EventBrite recently. The endless enshittification marches on. (Image source: www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... )

Article title:

Photo underneath title: 'Richard Haldenby said he was "in shock" when he received an email detailing the price increase'

Article author: Laura Cress (Technology Reporter)

Article Date: 20 August 2026

Displayed article blurb:

`Customers have shared their outrage after an app used by many businesses to track timesheets and produce invoices hiked bills by as much as 1500%, with one person calling it "daylight robbery".

Richard Haldenby, head of UK consultancy firm Salentis, told the BBC his monthly bill had risen from $130 (£95.50) to $2,110.

Others have reported similar price hikes online, with one person, external in the US saying their annual charge went from $2,800 to $23,000.

The BBC has approached Harvest for comment.

Harvest was acquired by the Italian tech company Bending Spoons in 2025, and changed its pricing structure the following year.

Many businesses who pay annually are only now finding out about the increase, as their payment is now coming up for renewal.`

Going forwards, I think I'm gonna roll with `npx degit` if I want to distribute UI components or similar. No build step, no install step, no patch-package if a user wants to make a modification, no need to worry about even shipping a packagejson (unless I want to).

I rebuilt my personal site, following a Vectorheart aesthetic (you might know it from the Wipeout game series). I recognised that the previous site wasn't great for readability and felt like I was forcing the whole 'living city' vibe. So, back to a less forced design that's much better contrast.

Apparently Google images is now a shopping platform. Search for an image of a physical item (e.g. a spoon), and enjoy how much mental energy you have to expend to sift out the mountains of shit that will send you to a retail website instead of opening an image preview. In the f*cking bin you go.
