Babe, wake up! New 'AI hallucinating basic commands' just dropped!
A screenshot from Google AI summary, showing a bash command.

It suggests that the command will download and bash-execute a 'Zitadel' setup script, but would instead actually download the githubusercontent[dot]com index page.

Ah yes, that good old AI summary that thinks that a world of tanks SPG is a medical concern (maybe there’s a condition with the same abbreviation, but the context makes it clear that’s not the expectation)

Would you look at that - the same folks that took over MeetUp and hiked prices also took over Harvest and did the exact same thing. Didn't know they'd also acquired EventBrite recently. The endless enshittification marches on. (Image source: www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... )
A screenshot of a news article from the BBC.

Article title:

Photo underneath title: 'Richard Haldenby said he was "in shock" when he received an email detailing the price increase'

Article author: Laura Cress (Technology Reporter)

Article Date: 20 August 2026

Displayed article blurb:

`Customers have shared their outrage after an app used by many businesses to track timesheets and produce invoices hiked bills by as much as 1500%, with one person calling it "daylight robbery".

Richard Haldenby, head of UK consultancy firm Salentis, told the BBC his monthly bill had risen from $130 (£95.50) to $2,110.

Others have reported similar price hikes online, with one person, external in the US saying their annual charge went from $2,800 to $23,000.

The BBC has approached Harvest for comment.

Harvest was acquired by the Italian tech company Bending Spoons in 2025, and changed its pricing structure the following year.

Many businesses who pay annually are only now finding out about the increase, as their payment is now coming up for renewal.`

I rebuilt my personal site, following a Vectorheart aesthetic (you might know it from the Wipeout game series). I recognised that the previous site wasn't great for readability and felt like I was forcing the whole 'living city' vibe. So, back to a less forced design that's much better contrast.

Maybe they should form a coalition and call it REFCON. Then again, 'REFCON-1' would probably be the alert level for 'saw a guy from Asia doing his shopping in Asda'
A screenshot showing the UK Council Election results of 2026. It has been cropped showing 'REF' (Reform) and 'CON' (Conservative) bar representations next to each other.

The REF shows 424 underneath, and then underneath that, an upwards arrow and the number 422 (indicating 422 seats gained).

The CON shows 268 underneath, and then underneath that, a downwards arrow and the number 183 (indicating 183 seats lost).

It's 2026, and Slack finally lets us attach content to existing messages when editing. Groundbreaking. Guess that can claim tax back on that as 'R&D'. Maybe by 2030, the `inline_code` blocks won't end up stealing the cursor when we try add something after the end of the code block.

For the folks in the back-bench
Liz Truss is depicted sitting on a wooden bench. Her arms are crossed, and she is gazing directly at the camera with a neutral expression.

At the other end of the bench is a red handbag. The way that Liz is sat implies that she's trying to create as much distance as possible between her and the handbag.Liz Truss is standing in front of a stone building with a tall tower. She is wearing a tan coat, white pants, and black shoes. She is holding a white lamb in her arms. The lamb is looking up at her.

In the background is a church, which has boarded up windows and a construction fence blocking access.

When you unpack the Timerunner's parting box on retail on a character which unlocked all 3 of their artifacts. Something that will never happen again in @worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com (unless Legion Remix returns). (Previous post deleted - image now has alt text)
A screenshot from World of Warcraft. Showing a 'Monk' character which has unlocked all 3 artifacts during the 'Legion: Remix' event.

The character is stood in Orgrimmar, and having unpacked the 'Timerunners parting box', the 3 artifact weapons they unlocked during the event have been added to their inventory.

This has triggered the mini-cinematic to happen where words float in the air while the camera rotates around the character slowly. To the left of the character are the words "Fu Zan The Wanderer's Companion". Above the character are the words "Sheilun, Staff of the Mists". To the upper-right of the character are the words "Fist of the Heavens".

This is usually not possible with regular retail characters as they can typically only obtain 1 artifact weapon at a time, which means only 1 set of words would show.

Oh, and yeah, the 'Training with Patience' achievement didn't seem to be working yesterday. Had zero deaths in a training grounds match, and it wasn't awarded. Not sure if it's working today.

The training ground PVP bots need significant tuning. They have ~40% more HP, and are still 3-shotting people. Also, their ability range seems impossibly large. Silvershard mines. A player stood near the top cart cap point can be hit by a bots Rapid Fire, even when the bot is in the central area.

Alright, client alpha 1 is working too, so looks like we've got a working end-to-end flow. Server runs via `yarn serve` (designed for local install and running with an env file), client runs via an npx command (designed to run with args from a project root directory), both part of the same package.

9 years ago. I saw the Geforce Experience software spawned a nodejs process, and was curious what it was used for. In fairness, there was no login requirement in the app, so an auth token mechanism couldn't really be tied to anything. Still, writing it in plain text to disk felt super sketch.

TIL: Typescript has `Parameters` utility. This example isn't great (because you could just create an interface and use that), but imagine you're trying to work with a library which has multiple nested levels and doesn't expose the types or interfaces for function args.
